Google mail is just a new free email service, it gives ya 1 gig of storage so you don't hafta delete emails, it scans incoming emails for spam, it also has minimal advertising, if you've ever used mail.com you'd appreciate that. It's in beta form right now and you can join by invitation only; I think they do that to control their growth. They'll give a member invitations to give away based on their usage; I use it a lot so I get a few from time to time.

I don't mean to hi-jack your thread but how does one get more invites?  I have a gmail account (thanks to MisterFloppy) and I would love to return the favor to some more folks here but I haven't figured out how to get invites.

Marc, You will get some gmail invites if you use your new account.  The more you use it the more you'll get.  It took me a week or so before I saw the message telling me I had some when I logged in.  I've been getting a lot of invites lately so I bet you'll get some soon.
