I have been looking at this technology 1. b/c my local phone service SUCKS and 2. because it seems pretty cool.  Anybody using it?

yup....It's pretty good, but has no dedicated 911, and when the internet is down so is your phone.
But that doesn't happen too often here, so we are happy with it...

I've had it for 2 months now and it seems pretty good. I do notice some dropouts if I'm downloading some large files or doing video chat at the same time. Maybe it's time for that load balancing switch. . .

I mostly use my cell phone but wanted a back up and the price is good for what you get. No long distance charges to worry about is a big plus for me.
