Well I just found around $500 that I didn't realize I had, and since I am going to treat myself to a little Christmas-in-September, why don't y'all help me decide how to spend it.
For completeness' sake, here is what's living in the stable now: ------ Sig 228 (9mm) SAR-1 (2003) + about 5 or 6 30-round AK mags 1 stripped AR15 lower 1 completed AR15 lower 9 30-round AR15 mags Hi-Standard HD Military .22 pistol Old Winchester 1400 (autoloader shotgun) that was given to me 80% 1911 frame + fire control parts edit They only allow 5 poll choices, sorry, so if you select OTHER or STRIPPED LOWERS then just post a message to that effect  edit2 I have a feeling ar-15 upper will be the overwhelming choice, but i'm open to all suggestions including Garand or whatever. Too bad can only put 5 poll choices  edit3 I hate to say it, GoatBoy, but the poll code is F*ED UP. |

Slap an upper on your completed lower and put a parts kit in the stripped.

I would build a simple lightweight AR in post sunset configuration.

It depends on what you need. If you need mags then go with that, if you need a good bolt gun then get the Savage. Seems like you can pick up a 10/22 anytime, there relitively cheap compared to the rest of the stuff on your list. A good suppressor will run you more then $500 when you add in the $200 tax so that's out but it would be kind of neat.

I'd get ready to finish off one of the lowers in no-ban configuration.
I'll bet a decent suppressor would end up costing way more then $500 with the suppressor itself, the form 4 tax, the other form 4 expenses, and the new threaded barrel you'd need. Why isn't ammo on the list, though? You can never have enough ammo. Oh yeah, and the poll code is seriously messed up. At the moment, the three bottom choices all have 3 votes, but the bottom one's bar is much longer then the other two. The number of votes as shown in the left side columns adds up to 38, but the total votes says 47. Percentages are right, using the left side vote numbers against the listed total, but of course they don't add up to 100% since the number of votes doesn't add up to the total. |

Oops!! I forgot to add to the list: I have an 80% 1911 frame and all the fire control parts, but no slide or barrel or slide parts I want to finish it out but to do it right it's gonna cost 400-500 ... |
