Took a picture of this corner stone at an old school that they are getting ready to renovate into a community center.
What's with the A L 5924 date after the A D 1924 date?

If that was the Lodge Number, it would mean that this particular Lodge was the 5924th Lodge established in Georgia.

It's the Masonic date system.
AL means "Anno Lucis" 5924 is the sum of the calendar year + 4000 In this case, 1924 + 4000 = 5924 www.mainemason.org/aboutfm/rules.htm |
