It's our wedding anniversary today and with all the threads here about cheating, and divorces, and marriages on the rocks, I'm happy to report that all is well with me and the Mrs. after 21 of the happiest years of our lives. Neither of us can imagine life without the other.

It can and does happen...and it's truly wonderful when it does!

Well damn, I thought you meant 21 years old.  I was gonna say me too in a couple more months, but nevermind then...

Congratulations to you. Now we're both on the "over 21 group". I'm working on my 24th.

Congratulations!

On Oct. 20, 2004 my wife and I will celebrate our 20th anniversary:

We're the happiest couple we know, we've been very lucky.

Almost everyone I know is either getting a divorce or unhappy...

Keep up the good work- it ain't always easy!!

Thanks to all!

I don't know about all of the rest of you happily marrieds, but we only socialize with other couples who are as committed to each other as we are. We don't want to be around couples who are constantly bickering or if there's cheating in their marriage. We only want to be around those who honor and cherish their spouses.

What about you?

Congrats!  It's good to hear a little positive news once in a while on the board!

Now go rip through a few magazines in celebration for us!

Never stop working to make your marriage better.  I'm not talking about money or stuff, either.  Work to become the most emotionally healthy person you can be.  Encourage your mate to do the same.  My Mom's parents were married 65+ years, had 16 kids, survived the Dust Bowl and the Depression, had sons wounded in WWII, lost a son in Korea, and lost six others to disease and illness.

Grandpa was just the way he was and he was honored for his position as patriarch.  As for his shortcomings, they were ignored.  He died in his mid-90s.  Grandma lived to be 103.  They accepted each other for who and what they were.  They were unshakable in their loyalty to each other.

Hey I lucked out this year. After 20 they only list a present every 5 years. Next up...silver at 25yrs.

We always say that we don't need an anniversary just to to remind us of what we mean to each other. We do it every day, and it's true. Anniversaries do have a way of reminding you of how old you're getting though!

Ever notice how all those presents are girly things? I've never seen things like...5th anniversary, electronics...7th anniversary, firearms...9th anniversary, fishing tackle...11th anniversary...guitars and amps.

What's up with that?

My 25th is this March I'm guessing the wife might want to make a deal out of it. You think?

Oh yeah...

The 25th is a big one...silver anniversary and all. A nice trip to someplace exotic or romantic is a must, I think.

It's always good to see others celebrating long and happy marriages.

Take her to Italy, first Verona (Romeo & Juliets house) and then on to Venice… dinner and a canal trip, guaranteed to melt their hearts…

… certainly worked for me!

Yeah, Venice is great. Just to stroll around St Marks Square, ride the gondolas, drink Belini's at Herry's bar...That would be a truly great anniversary gift.

Florence ain't bad either...do both!
