OK, OK, OK, I know that would sting A LOT! Not sell, but not as your primary sport, defense, plink
rifle? Something that was as easy to work on, historical rellavence, industrial parts support, modularity. What would this new rifle have? New materials? SCAR? Belt fed? subgun? If you could build it, what would the rifl be? (I know: in AR15.com tradition get both! But play along.) |
If the cops ask nicely. Heck, even if they ask kinda mean like.
Being dead...I believe that would force me to relinquish my weapon. Yeah - death would do it.
Honestly? If a cop or jbt said "Give me the ar or I shoot." You wouldn't give up your gun? I highly doubt that, but I might be wrong... |
the effects of Rigor Mortis leaving my bones!
okay so really... a Sig 551. |
Family comes first. (Yea yea, even though I called my AR my baby....doesn't quite count ). Had to sell mine to pay back bills.....keeping warm in the winter and all.

+ 875 or a good 1911. To tell the truth, rifles just aren't my thing anymore. As a battle rifle, I'd take a M14, give it a better stock, a better optics platform, and make some better ammo for it (with all the 5.56 advancements, it should be very easy to apply them to the 7.62x51, or for that matter, just adapt one of the commercial loads to it-adapt, not adpot, I say). But then again, I'm the last person you'd ask. |
Oh, how true! Give it all the qualities that makes an AR15 an AR15! |
The girl of my dreams !!! That would do it for me ...or else prolly death!
It's now, my favorite AR!!! |
SCAR possibly.... but thats still an AR
an M16.... but thats still an AR too so really nothing... maybe a Sig 551, but I cant say that for sure since I've never handled or shot one |
You are, about some of us. For me, the decision has been carefully considered and made. I pray that I will never be forced to act on that decision, but act on it I would. In response to the thread...lots of good sex, maybe. You did just mean one of my ARs, right? |
Yup. That's what did it for me. Now I have an AR18 |
i dont have one and wont untill i move (PRK and i cant move cus im a kid)
Giving up an AR would be like me getting my testicles removed voluntarily. You just don't do it.
+1 and I even told my father who's a federal agent (U.S. Customs)this, and I still feel this way after spending 7 years in the military only to see our fundamental rights slowly being chipped away by them gun-grabbing, congress-critters. If I had to go out in a blaze of glory just to bring attention to fundamental rights being taken away I'd do it!!!! |
I am trying to give one up now. (At half the cost) Need funds for my daughter and to do a few repairs on the house before winter.

John, my claims are of personal conviction. My actions are of personal choice. My choice will remain evident in the circumstances surrounding the specific encounter. But to speak plainly, no - someone - anyone merely requesting me to surrender my firearms without reasonable grounds, would endure my causality. Those reasonable grounds / terms would be beholden upon myself alone. |
Are we talking give up the 1 I got or give them up altogether?
No disrespect intended and if you feel I did, then I apologize. I just meant that if a cop or jbt requests that you relinquish your fire arm, so that HE would feel safe, would you do it? A tough call on my part, but we all know that cops and jbts do not do a search by themselves... |
No disrespect taken, my friend! Ah! You address an important issue. Officer safety. I do commit to the idea that an officer must approach a situation with his safety in the forefront of his mind. If I were in his shoes, I'd probably maintain the same practices. Yes, by all means, if it were merely for the concern of the safety of an officer, and not evident to any other motivation than I would temorarily give up posession of my firearm. Thank you for the clarification. |
See, that's the thing. A cop or jbt isn't going to ask for your weapon. He's going to shout in a dominating fashion and command you to give up your weapon. I can't see a cop or jbt saying "Excuse me, sir, can we have your weapon so that we can feel safer in this tense environment?" |

If I had an AR, it would be if DiFi pointed that commie bullet hose at me with an intent to demonstrate more thrusts per squeeze.

John, I'm sorry your experiences have brought you to that conclusion. Here, In Texas, that is exactly what happens. An officer very politely asks you to relinquish posession of your firearm for reasons of safety. No screams or violent reactions are taken in this State. I'm saddened to hear that is what has become common in your area. |
That's so true... |
a brand new Preban Poly-tec Legend AK, I would trade straight across AR for the AK
AHAH a trick question you said AR! Not AR/15 big difference!
AR/15's are easy to give up AR's are another puppy alltogether! And I'm not talking FA here AR means to me Semi Auto!! Bob |
shit load of $$$$ i'd hand it over....and go build some more rifles
I keep thinking I need to get my hands on an AN-94 sometime before I die...
Yep, that sucks. In the latter case, I would probably comply. In the former... |
