I don’t know much about the guy but usually enjoy his characters.

Fit is fit. I didn’t hear shit about Sigourney Weaver in Aliens. Why? Because it’s a great story and she fit in. Ghostbusters cunt remake? Forced bullshit.

White man not allowed.

At least not a strong white man. A woman has to come in and shame him and threaten and dominate him like last Bond movie.

It was obvious (and even SK admitted it) that he was picturing Clint Eastwood's Man With No Name character as Roland, and the description in the series wasn't ambiguous.

IMO, aside from the blue eyes, Timothy Olyphant would've made a decent Roland.

Well considering that black people draw suspicion at just the convenience store, I don't believe they're very well cut out for espionage. No offense. I mean if you think about it, how many black people do you think there are in Russia? They would stick out like a sore thumb.

He wasn't the problem with that movie by a long shot.
I get that book fans don't see it that way(I only read the first book)
The movie was just poorly done.
McConaughey was a worse casting choice for that movie, his performance didn't work at all.

They tried the Nolan gritty bond but none of the ones I’ve seen were nearly as well done as the Batman trilogy. Haven’t seen the last two yet but not holding out hope. I agree Craig just felt off. Maybe 2 Craig ones I’d rewatch. Of course Goldeneye is the only really rewatchable brosnon era Bond.

He's already fifty, the age at which most Bond actors are hanging it up after a decade or more playing the role.
He was never going to be in serious consideration given his age.

Re-imagine him as Agent Robinson on M's staff.

Not as decadent as bond, but depending on how you play it, an executive hardass in charge of a mission with multiple agents that goes sideways, Robinson, cut off with no communication, has to step it up and take care of the mission.

Let's face it, you're not an agent on M's staff unless you've got special forces training at some level. You could even do a flashback seen to him doing a military mission with a younger self. Who could play the Robinson?

Of course I think he's in a chick flick as a genie with a shaved head right now, dude does not look right at all.

Remember when Craig was first cast, there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth as he was considered too plain looking and short to play the role. How he proved them wrong.

Best Bond since Connery.  Arguably closer to the book Bond than  any of the others.  Huge fan of the series, seen them all.  It's always been fascinating to see how the Bonds played out.  Connery was the cold war warrior, very fifties vibe.  Lazenby was mis-cast and unfortunately was in the worst written movie of the series.  Moore played as high camp, almost satire.  Dalton had potential but seemed to try to hard.  Brosnan was a throw back to the Connery persona and I though he pulled it off reasonably well.  Craig is the black Bond, the depressed, violent, living in the dark world Bond, which is much closer to what Fleming originally wrote.  All of them reflected the times the films were made.

I'd be ok with him as Bond too, but I think for him it's a role that would have been better starting off at 40, not now at 50. I can see an actor like him not wanting to be tied up that long, that way he's open to doing whatever projects he wants to.

Yes, he is. While I thought Cruise did a decent job in the role, he couldn't pull off the physicality that was central to the character. They might as well have cast the midget from GoT.

I like Idris Elba, for sure, but as Bond? Not as James Bond himself, but maybe another Double O agent? Sure.

But he's fitty year old? That's a bit on the mature side.

They should just let the franchise be retired entirely. They need to stop with the "The New Insert-Beloved-Character" shit. Come up with new stories.
