I would have my attorney inform them by certified mail the next day I identify as a woman and make sure my sympathy menstrual cycle was on the schedule.

I've heard fishing relieves cramping and ironically, drinking beer helps bloating.

Oh, I can't wait for the lawsuits.  Didn't the batshit crazy LGTBBQ group try saying men can have periods too?

So up to 36 days off, plus maybe 20 standard vacation days. Over a ~250 day work year, effectively working 4 out of 5 days. Of course, when this inevitably exacerbates pay differences between men and women, it'll be used as proof the system is rigged.

In aggregate, how could a group of people habitually working 10-15% less than another expect the same rate of promotions, salary increases, etc?

I honestly dont care as its a legitimate health issue.

I dont think its a bad idea.  The severity of period pain varies tremendously between women.  I also dont give a shit if it ends up getting abused. Nobody’s job is that important they cant miss a few days a month.  Im sure some of you think that but ultimately it doesn’t make a hill of beans difference.

That would cost about 3k per person for 3 days a month here.

3 days/ month is 14%.

Are men going to be compensated 14 percent more?

Okay, and...?

Real wages have been stagnant since the 70s. The least you can do is give your employees some of their labor back.

Careful. Knowing the value of your labor is how you get called a Marxist around here.

The job descriptions at CHANI, a queer- and feminist-led company that makes a popular astrology app, list a variety of perks to entice potential employees: salaries starting at $80,000 a year, an annual tech stipend, a nice 401(k) match and four months of paid parental leave.

They make so much off an astrology app that they can pay the employees like that?

Damn, why didn't I think of an astrology app?

"unlimited menstrual leave for people with uteruses."

How dare they discriminate against trans "women" like that.  It's an outrage, the company is denying their gender identification!

It's grossly unfair they have to have a uterus to qualify.

Uterus inequity!

Will men be given unlimited erection leave?

“Sorry boss, I’m going to need about ten minutes.”

“That’s the fourth time this morning.”

“Yeah, Susan in accounting is wearing this pencil skirt, and sweater set.”

“Why were you in accounting?”

“Didn’t I just say?”

What if a male has ''blue balls?"

I'd sue for gender discrimination.

Hell, maybe the company should have to provide a female ''escort''to alleviate my discomfort.

I would argue that if they get 3 days off per month, and therefore only will be working for 85% of the time, then pay should be capped at 85% of that of a male in an equivalent position. Either that or men need to get 3 days extra PTO per month.

Except some of us actually do work in a 24/7 environment where having the extra co-workers around is the difference between working and running your ads off trying to cover.

Healthcare is heavily slanted towards women. Start having them drop 15% of the month "for free" and you put the weight on every guy that works in the field to carry the slack. We are short enough already.
