I don't know.it came that
Got a cheap cut down barrel and sent em off.

The barrel is from a m14 iirc which causes the front sight to sit high. So I had to find the lowest possible front. Unfortunately it was a fiber optic. It shoots dead on now. A friend had a similar gun built but with a m10 barrel and he was able to get a normal tritium front sight.

I just hate the way the newer Smiths look.  Hammers suck.  Front sights suck.
Give me a P&R Magnum any day over what they are today.
FYI, the only new Smith I own is a 442 Pro.  No lock, no exposed (sucky looking) hammer.  I will NOT buy a modern Smith strictly on looks alone.  My opinion, my choice, haters be damned.

I love that I can easily drop in a tritium front sight on my m66.  Hammers are a moot point because I like to cut half the spur off.

Modern Smith's make better fighting guns.

I must be the only human that is not impressed with Model 58s. I had one for about a month, and was happy to get rid of it. It did nothing better than any of the other N frames I had at the time, and was not fun to shoot, even compared to my 29-4 with Keith loads.

I looked at buying one of those GS Specials, but complete model 10s are still $250-300. If you're already sending it off to get work done, it makes sense though.

Honestly it's still cheaper to buy a 4" if someone wants a 3".

I had originally wanted a 2" and planned to do it myself.

The 3" i just bought was $384. It was mislabeled as a 4" though, so I got really lucky.

The starting bid is $300.

If y'all are gonna paste Vigilinks, please post the complete original link instead of some cutesy word, it's a pain in the ass to chop out the ARFCOM selling our info to Vigilink when you don't post the original link.

The pitting isn't terrible. Considering I would have to have a 4" refinished if I had the barrel chopped, I think it's a good deal.

Awww…fuck.

I think I have a couple of speedloaders from Model 19 I used to have.   Should fit a model 10.   Shame to have them go to waste….and I do have a 638 J frame, so I’ve got a bunch of .38spl ammo.

Maybe should…sort of….just peek at Gunbroker just to see what’s out there….

Woot!

Just got a new single/double action .22/.22 mag 9 shot revolver.

Made by Diamondback in Cocoa FL

Swing out , counter bored cylinders, star extractors.

Safe to dry fire, very light crisp SA trigger.

Had to have, lol, it's really a High Standard Double Nine clone, great fun

Why would I want to? It doesn't kick, just a louder bang, lol

It's a .22, I got it for cheap plinking.22lr, it's not a target pistol, but the extra mag cylinder comes with it, I tried it out, eàsy to hold one handed.

Even in shorter barrels, .22 magnum ballistics are a pretty big upgrade vs .22 long rifle, especially if you factor in ammo selection.

Forgot to take the pin out until I'd made a full rotation.  Spun it back, punch out the pin, and pulled the barrel.  Fortunately the frame is fine, barrel took all of the damage.

"This is torqued down waaaay more than I expected..."

I know a guy who took a brand-new model 28 with a 6-inch barrel and changed it out with a 4-inch barrel.  He used a pair of channel locks and did not take out the pin.  He did not stop with one turn. This was about 1984.

Worth it to get rid of that long barrel.

I kinda like my 6 in 28.  I wish my 29 8-3/8 was 6

I have a 5" 625.  It's a fantastic length for shooting.  A little on the long side for carrying.
