Cuz they don’t have any, can’t get any and don’t know when that will change.

Studs are down from $12 to $9, so that’s nice.  I bough 5 16’ pressure treated 2x4 today for $28 each.  I was just glad they had some.

It's $46.95 in my hometown and $68 in the town I'm visiting.  I'm thinking of going back with the trailer.

Small rural hardware store.

I think HD has lowered prices a lot more, but supply is still an issue.

I'm no thief.

My dad was cleaning out his shed and asked me if I wanted some materials, so I stopped by and took what I wanted.

ETA - he knows I'm building a new wood shed, and I cut, haul, and stack a cord or two for him every year, so what goes around comes around.

Just because it was stolen years ago doesn't make it any better.

Just kidding

So you are saying OP needs to check out his parents shed for lumber, but only if he did a lot of firewood cutting every year? I'm confused.

HD dropped from $43/sheet locally to $37/sheet on osb. $33 for bulk > 69 sheets.  Encouraging.

Can't even get rough cut here now.

All the guys with mills are making lists because of the demand.

It's not that they don't have the timber, they just can't get the stuff sawn and stickered fast enough.

A lot of ag work and homeowners are moving to rough cut for stuff that doesn't need to be stamped.

I bought some PT 2x8-8s the other day and thought the tag was wrong. They were only 9.99.

I paid that for untreated stud grade 2x4s a few months ago.

I have 9,  3/4" sheets of OSB that I bought for a project a while back that I ended up not using. I put it for sale on FB marketplace for $40/sheet and haven't had any bites on it..... I wish someone would come get it. I'm tired of it being in my way.

I just bought  a truck of 1/2" CDX 4 ply yellow pine domestic mill for 999/m
That's just under $32 a sheet
Lowest I've paid in a year

That’s half what I was quoted for Doug for CDX 1/2”.

It’s dropping as fast as ammo. Keep going!

Lumber is stacked to the fuckin' roof at our HD/Lowes, shit is flowing outside.

Something has to move eventually.

I bitched at $20 a sheet last year.  I felt better about the $20 when I saw $50 a sheet.  I wish I could really bitch about $20 by it going to $7.

HD and Lowe's didn't have a single old work box in my town last weekend. Not many new work boxes either.
