Once in elementary school when the police came to talk to the students about what they did and to generally give us info on being cops. It was cool, but then later on in life I thought "So, those cops fingerprinted a couple hundred kids that day....time to put on the tinfoil hat!"
Edited to add: They didn't fingerprint me when I was arrested in 1997 for skateboarding on my college campus. That's right, I got arrested for skateboarding. It was awesome! |

1) When I attempted to join the Canadian Militia but then had my application sent to the RCMP for 7 months because my parents were from a communist block country. They wanted to do a more extensive 'background check' even though I was born and raised in Canada.
 2) CCL (prints required in some NH counties) 3) The Green Card application requires a background check from the country of origin, so another RCMP check. |

Three times...
First time was prints and pictures after a how shall we say, little altercation. I lost my temper after being run over on my motorcycle. Had it back on the road less than a week after engine and paint work. When the police came, I didn't know how many of them it would take to kick my ass, but I knew how many they were going to use. The second time, our shop had been robbed, and they needed fresh prints to exclude the shop personnel. The third time was for my CCL. |

The only time I was ever fingerprinted was for my CHL. The wife and I did feel like crimminals.
To make it funnier, she couldn't get the ink off for days. |

I was finger printed twice for security clearances while working in the defense industry, and again recently for a class 3 purchase. Never any "bad" occasions though.

In NJ you need to get finger printed if you want to own a gun. so they finger printed me twice, so that i could get "permission" to buy my rifle.

9th or 10th time? Is that all? Try going through an adoption. We are in our second one and I think I got fringer printed 4 times for each of those. And that is just in the last 3 years.
Then you throw in CHL, Air Force, various jobs, etc. I don't even know how many times but it is a lot. |

Once when I was 5 or so (Dad's a cop...wanted to make sure that if my bro or I disappeared, we'd be identified I guess)...once because ..well, I won't get into it, but I was 17...and I think that's it.
By this point, I've burned most all of my fingers doing something so...I'm not sure any previous prints would work. |

Oh yes you will. You are making a common assumption that your recruiters and/or the MEPS/AFEES save the cards, could find them if they did save them , will be able to use them for another service, can figure you are the same person, and/or didn't sent the originals off in your original package and got them back. Or all of the above. Vice taking 5 minutes to do it again. Must be about 15-20 times for me. Dad was LEO so he did it to have them if anything happened, Army ROTC, Navy ROTC, Active duty, active duty TS Clearance, Reserve Clearance, Company Clearance, BI, renew BI, Church Youth Group, and let's not forget the group Fingerprinting Merit Badge class. |

 I've been fingerprinted over 509 times(Or at least that's how many times OSBI f'_ed up my fingerprint cards and they had to be resubmitted to CLEET when I first got my badge  )

1` when i turned 15 and got my DL
2-10 (or so) form 4's once for my CCW. every renewal since then doesn't require a new set. my soon to be latest fingerprint cards- for my out of state Florida CCW liscense, and one other state i haven't decided on yet. i dunno, maybe i'll only get florida. d |

I burned all my finger prints off with this machine at MiB headquar.... I mean..... no, never been fingerprinted.
Back in the early 80's when the whole child kidnaping thing was putting parents were hitting the panic button, all the kids at school had to be fingerprinted, but the parents kept the cards. I think I destroyed mine when I was a teen. I guess I was when I joined the .mil as well. Don't remember. |

Never been fingerprinted, except for birth certificate I guess. My parents always saw the 80s kidprinting as a ploy by the police to go ahead and get as many prints on record (in a black helicopter tin foil way), and therefore never got me printed.
I know a need a CCL, and I'll have to get printed then. |

Weird, I must be the only guy around here who's ever been arrested.
I was pretty wild just out of high school, I must have been fingerprinted 8 or 9 times, maybe more, and not for NFA stuff or anything fun. Oh well, live and learn.

Considering all of the clearances I've had to go through over the past 20+ years, I've been fingerprinted more often than 90% of the people I arrest.

Never. Really! I've never been arrested. Alabama's pistol permit doesn't require finger printing. Never been in the military.
I didn't get figer printed when I got my C&R FFL.

ffl, multiple nfa, a few for the military ,with more as time goes on,and I go this morning for ccl prints on the new fancy machine. I think I'll ask if I can have some spares while I'm there. I'm thinking about a serbu shorty this summer.

Who knows what happens when you send in your print cards for an NFA/ class three/ title II application? do they just check your prints against all the known bad guys, or do they have a huge database of honest people that have been fingerprinted for various "good" reasons and got put in the system?
I've done lots of nfa applications, I wonder if am i in the system? |

I've lost count.... In other words, short of burning my hands completely smooth, I couldn't get away with shit..
All for the good, nothing bad, but it gets old. Started off with the Army for my initial security clearance, and umpteen times since then for additional alphabet agencies (more of that 'not sharing info' thing), etc. Last time a few months back was for my CAC card over at the Pentagon.... |

Fingerprinted for WY CCW. I did it on a lunch break and came back to work with ink on my fingers. My boss (ccw holder) looked at my hands and asked if I had gotten in a little trouble over the lunch hour.

Lets see if I can remember all of them.
Concealed Weapons License 1x Police Department Visit 1x Nine NFA Transfers at 3 cards each = 27x (I send 3 because they want 2 perfect sets) Total 29 cards. So to date I have 29 fingerprint cards on file and every single time I get printed I wonder why I am having to do this again. Why don't they just ask for a verification and scan my prints like they do for every single person they arrest? The FBI surely uses a computer based system so what is the point of sending in new cards for every transfer? It is a small price to pay for the privledge of owning an NFA firearm, but it still doesn't make any sense. |
