Did this thing ever get off the ground?  For those who dont know about it, snips from an article.

In the Nevada desert, about 45 minutes west of Las Vegas, a multi-million dollar refuge for gun enthusiasts is taking shape. The 550-acre gated community is called Front Sight and it's the brainchild of Ignatius Piazza, a 41-year-old chiropractor from Santa Cruz County, California.

He says it will be like a "Disneyland for gun-lovers" and the "safest community in America," replete with guns and shooting ranges as well as 177 homes, 350 condominiums, a supermarket, community center, and a restaurant. The streets in this community will have names such as "Second Amendment Drive" and "Sense of Duty Way". If Piazza's entire vision is realized, in a few years there will even be a school where, he says, teachers will be armed to reduce the risk of on-campus shootings.

Already, Front Sight has operating shooting ranges and firearm training institute, including a one-day submachine gun course, where beginners get to shoot fully automatic nine-millimeter Uzis at targets depicting human torsos. The training is said to attract a mix of people — schoolteachers, grandmothers, software engineers, police officers and others.

Piazza says this is not a compound for gun nuts and that the high-end amenities at Front Sight lure law-abiding citizens. He also says Front Sight will help change negative views on gun ownership and the Second Amendment by providing gun training to those who influence policy decisions in this country.

Luis Tolley, Western Regional Director for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence says he isn't opposed to the Front Sight idea. He says, "If all the machine-gun aficionados and all the survivalists want to get together and live in a little town, maybe the rest of us will be safer." He says the idea that there would be a lot of people who would be willing to raise a family there is just "silly".

Not so according to Piazza, who says people who believe government is stripping them of their rights will pay big money to be a part of this community. Already he says he has sold almost 50 "platinum" memberships for up to $350,000 a piece. These memberships include a lot where a home will be built and lifetime use of the ranges. Piazza says it's his vision of the American Dream.

"Founder and spiritual leader Dr. Ignatius Piazza promises that when the resort is finished it will include 12 shooting ranges, an assault tower, 177 home lots, a convenience store, a church and a private school. Furthermore he claims his town will be the safest in the USA."

it's going well, I've been out a couple of times. If I was better off I'd buy a site out there.  Regardless of what you think of Pizza, it's a hell of a fun place to go to and the trainers are all top notch.

Here is some stuff to read about the cult leader Piazza:

He has taken millions of dollars but hasn't built much more than a paved road (whom he stiffed the contractor on, lawsuit ongoing), a big tent, and some berms and dirt moved around.  No permanent structures whatsoever. Some people put up a half a million dollars for a home site out there. They got promised the world but nothing is moving forward as of yet.  Piazza is a scam artist pure and simple.
