I know lots are cancelling, but Last of the Mohicans just showed up on Amazon Prime, I know what I'm watching tonight!

And it’s the theatrical cut, not the crappy director’s cut. Watched it last weekend.

"You call yourself a patriot and loyal subject to the crown?!"
"I do not call myself subject to much at all!" |

For the scene at the indian village near the end, it takes place in three languages. Some versions show translations, others don't. You miss an important part of what's happening in the version which does not provide the translation subtitles.

That and master and commander were back to back in my suggestions. Two movies that I can’t stop watching once I see them on.

That’s what I tell my wife when I drop her off at the door to the grocery store and go park the car. “No matter what occurs, I will find you!”
I’m not sure she appreciates it as much as she should. |

The director’s cut also cuts this scene out: Hawkeye : My father warned me about you... Cora Munro : [interupting] Your Father? Hawkeye : Chingachgook, he warned me about people like you. Cora Munro : Oh, he did? Hawkeye : He said "Do not try to understand them". Cora Munro : What? Hawkeye : Yes, and, "do not try to make them understand you. That is because they are a breed apart and make no sense". |

Will definitely watch this week.
I love the original theatrical version. I remember when they released the American version DVD (director's expanded edition) and it was completely butchered. IIRC they removed most, if not all, of the trash talking that Hawkeye was famous for. I actually bought a UK-region DVD player just to play the UK DVD version which was the original theatrical cut. Don't get me wrong, but the "expanded edition" added some pretty awesome scenes like where Duncan leads a charge against the French forces attacking the fort. Shows that he had more than enough balls to go around. I haven't watched the Blu-Ray version (director's definitive cut), but I heard it was very well done, and with changes having been made and authorized by Mann himself. |

The Last of the Mohicans - Promentory (Main Theme) |

Those considerations are subordinate to the interests of The Crown.

I'm the only person on earth who hasn't seen this movie and my wife has it on DVD.
Really need to fix this. |

Well, we kinda face to the north and real sudden-like turn left.

Wow OP, I just sat down and watched it with my daughter this past weekend on HULU. Hadn't seen it since the early 90's when it was released. Forgot how good it was.

Just watched it the other day as well. They don’t make movies like that anymore. The music in that movie is epic! Kantuckee haha
|
|
I discovered I bought it on iTunes and Amazon
That's a great movie. |

“Justice? If that's justice than the sooner French guns blow the English out of America the better it will be for the people here!”

I always thought that was a funny line.
"Stay alive!" "Gee, thanks for the tip. I was thinking about just standing here until I die, but I guess I'll try to stay alive instead. I'm getting kind of hungry anyway, so..." |
|
|
Thanks for the heads-up, OP. I'll watch it tonight. I haven't seen it in years!
