For nearly a century, it was great chocolate. Then the assholes kept on cutting corners to make money. Probably the union's fault.
Replace cocoa butter with palm kernel oil and carnauba wax. Does anyone remember the very short-lived commercial "the Hershey Bar: unchanged since 1898" or whatever. Then the budget cuts happened, and shit got outsourced. I believe they also stopped using local milk, the reason that Milton Hershey put the fucking factory there. Re: Theater. I sang there a few times in high school. |

Yep.. Hershey went to shit in early 2K. Last bar I bought tasted like dog shit smells.
Wish my uncle was still in Frankfurt. He used to send me some German chocolate bars that were the bomb.

My brother in law, a food scientist (Masters), worked for M&M Mars a bit over 15 years ago.
From his initial training there, that Hershey's and most other domestic chocolates were rancid tasting. I like Dove milk chocolate for a reasonably priced domestic. |

Hershey's original recipe used sour (curdled) milk that had been dehydrated.

Too expensive
At sams club a box of Hershey bars is almost $25 now Maybe 2008 they were $8-9 a box, no more than $12 The minI ones or kisses Are a bit more tolerable. Just have one small piece occasionally and not a whole bar Same thing with snickers and any other chocolate candy bars |
