its gotten crazy around me too, most anything is sold out. My local gunstores are getting cleaned out. Only thing i can find is some odd calibers.

I just need some .45 acp fmj to shoot for the fun of it. Just bought a G21 and need want to enjoy some range time with it but I've only got 1k or so and really dont want to dig into it.....

If you have decent sporting goods stores you can definitely hustle and get it for less. This week I got a 200 round pack of Fiocchi 9mm for $0.38/round which is the most I have paid for FMJ 9mm during gunpocalypse.

Some people have more money than common sense, and just don't give a shit. There was a guy bear hunting in PA years ago. He rode his ATV way back onto some game lands, which is a no-no. Warden cited him, and he laughed and said he was going to keep doing it because he was loaded and the tickets were easier than hiking. I think after they wound up confiscating his 4 wheeler after a few more run ins..... |

Small gunshops around here have a couple boxes of all the main handgun calibers at roughly $1/round. I've heard 2 owners say "if you need it, you'll buy it". The bigger sporting goods stores have much lower prices (when ammo is in stock).
I don't get mad at the prices, nor do I think people are suckers for paying $1/round. We have had millions of new gun owners the last few years and I'm going to assume a bunch more the last half year. If you need something and the price is high, having some is better than having none. I look at this as a good time to shoot the calibers I have plenty of ammo for. |

Yesterday I went looking for some .38spl for my wife. It's the only caliber of what I own that i don't stock deep.
$76 for a box of 50, fmj. I passed. I did get some .44spl though. |
