Lol you can thank bots and scalpers for ammo costs.
They use computer programs to checkout faster than a person can, then the sell off the ammo a few boxes at a time on an auction, and you can bet they use fake accounts to push up the bids too. I've been watching that happen for a year now.
I've listened to another ffl owner gleefully talk about how he managed to buy out a pallet's worth of ammo so he can turn around and slowly leak it on gun broker for 125% more than he paid. Gun owners have managed to make panics part of our culture almost like stone age humans and droughts. We spend so much time building up panics so when they even look like they might happen people spring into action.
There's capitalism then there's market manipulation.
