This may ruffle some feathers but I thought usual suspects was terribly cast. Every time I watch it I roll my eyes trying to see Gabriel Byrne as corrupt cop that killed three guys in prison. And Todd Hockney as some super meat eater assassin at 5'2"? Give me a break.

I hated CPL Upham so much I had to work to get over hating the actor himself.
He did a great job of playing a cowardly fuck. Even the German knew he was a pussy and didn’t waste time killing him on the way down the stairs. |

I hate Catharine Hepburn because so many of the roles she played were the same character.
In both The African Queen and Rooster Cogburn she played a naive, moralizing, fanatic who has a quest she cannot accomplish with out a strong, worldly man to be the motive force. Then, instead of showing gratitude, she does nothing but complain and harp on, and downright abuse, the man who she depends on. And they simp for her! 1950's era morality where a man NEEDS the gentleing touch of a woman to tell him how to live his life. Hepburn played that role to such perfection that I hate her in real life. |
