White, gray leather interior.   Shit I am gonna half to look around again...  I almost bought a new f150 until this thing came along.  Not a Toyota fan, but the truck is growing on me.

I've been trying to buy a ~150HP  4WD tractor as we bought more property and want to upgrade our Deere 6410 to something with a little more HP, little heavier, bit of a longer frame.

A 2004 Deere 7420 with a bad hydraulic pump went for $56,000 on auction - 4000 hours.

A 1986?  4450 with 5600 hours on it, no loader, went for $46,000 and change.

Just crazy figures.   Lowest I saw was a Deere 7510 go for $27,500 - but it had 11,000 hours on it and it was hammered hard.

Nothing compared to the used tractor market right now. It is insane. Shit with 8K hours  needing work and wanting fortune for it.

Go talk to your dealer and have them
Roll you a deal on a brand new one. Tell them you want 0% too, they will do it. We got 3 75 hp models for 17k off apiece with warranty and 0%.

I will continue to buzz around in my 2015 versa sedan. Fuck all this stupidity.  No one even uses them as trucks. it’s just a fashion accessory.  More power to them, I guess.  When they are old as dirt I better not see them crabbing on a news interview about how their government pension isn’t enough to live on. Oh wait, I will.

Amen to that!  (although I still want the power windows).  Crew cab + long bed for me.

But, it sounds like I may not be getting that new(er) Tundra anytime soon with prices going crazy like this.

I commented in one of these threads (Maybe this one? I'm not looking back) but the thought process some people are going through is that they can sell their used truck and get into a new one for not a whole lot more. New trucks still have ok discounts and surprisingly low interest rates so it makes the deal look appealing on paper.

FWIW I was browsing Colorado ZR2s last night out of boredom, all but one used one was going for more than the new ones on the lot.

I went by the dealer near me today.

They had a new Tundra Doublecab Limited, sticker just over $47k. I would bet they aren't willing to wiggle much. The Toyota lot was fully stocked as far as I could tell, but the front lots of the chain GM dealer were barren. Very little selection.

I think the move might be to buy a used CPO truck a ways away and have them ship it. There are a few "in range" of me in the low $30s. Still more than I'd like to spend, but you take what you can get. It will stink to spend double what I did 9 years ago.

As far as windows, I have found power windows to be significantly more reliable than crank.

I guess I better clean the Mutt fur and field mung out of ours, and eradicate the mice.

Damn thing is drive line perfect, but was a nightmare of Absolute SHIT GM quality everywhere else.
Can't keep a steering box, or steering component on the thing for more than 30K....and it doesn't matter how much grease is applied.
It's on the third window mech, leave it to GM to fuck up a crank window.
Second set of brake lines, second fuel line, second wiring harness, Console shattered in the cold, every goddamned knob and latch has been replaced a couple times.

Hell, I have been holding off on dumping it because I figured I'd only get 3-4k out of it, and it's worth that as a fertilizer/shit hauler.

I’m shopping trucks and was looking at a listing for a 2020 Ram 2500 and the financing was total bullshit. They were offering 9.65% financing for 84 months to “well qualified “ buyers which was defined as “very good” credit.
I’m not financing anything other than a house for 84 months. I’m damn sure not going to pay  almost 10% interest rate.
Fuck that.
Prices are insane on used trucks as well.

But hey, that would cause people to have foresight and use logic....shit is to much to expect yo.

Ok. Serious question.  Im not into cars, trucks and just drive them.

2004 Ford Ranger. V6. Extended cab, 4x4.   Runs good, hard to shift into drive but does, brakes suck & need work. Tires good. Frame is good.  Lots of rot on rear half.  Probably needs whole new bed & exhaust is loud. No accidents.
135k.

I bought it in 2006 @20k.  Gave it to my mom in 2011 when I got my Honda Fit.
She wants to haul it to the junk yard.
I say sell it.
Whats a fair price?  More money is always better but she aint the type to squeeze every last dollar.

This thread has me wondering what my old 06 Tacoma 4x4 4banger would go for.  The only thing wrong with it is a small hole on the left rear panel where I jackknifed a small trailer into.  I fixed it with some primer and a bandaid sticker.

I was in Pigeon Forge this last week for the cancelled Shades of the Past rod run. A friend has his Dad's 2002 F350, diesel, loaded, crew cab, dually for sale. The truck had every single option available on that model except 4 wheel drive. Manual transmission. 78K original miles. His dad rarely drove it.

He had it for sale at 33K. He arrived last Tuesday. By Thursday someone had given him 1K dollars cash for a deposit on the truck and would make arrangements to finish the deal up after he towed his car home today.

The crazy part is he must have had a half dozen people show up over the weekend to see if the truck was still for sale after he had cleaned all the info and for sale sign off the windows....

Edited for speeeeling.....

I sold a 1996 dodge 2500 12valve manual earlier this month. It has sat most of the year and was starting to get in rough shape. It was a good runner with some aftermarket upgrades. A buddy told me to put it up for $14000 and I thought he was crazy. I listed it for $12500 and it sold within hours for cash. I guess I could have got more out of it.

I don’t feel too bad. I drove it for 13 years and made 5k more than what I bought it for.

The entire financial market is upside down, twisted in a million knots, and messed up.  Money is so cheap to borrow right now, people are spending like crazy.  Add to that a two month halt in product of most things and demand is crazy for everything - new and used.  House, boats, RVs, 4x4 toys, trucks and cars.  It seems as though anyone with half decent credit is financing anything they can get their hands on, and with most loans being less than 2.5% they see it as free money.

My oldest son sold his clapped out 05 tahoe for just north of 3k about 2 months ago. New owner has already blown it up. He bought a 15 Silverado just under 100k for about 25k.

I bought a 14 Sierra with all the bells and whistles except sunroof and heated steering wheel for 26k with just over 100k on it in feb.

Sold my youngest son my 00 Silverado for 2500, with 230k, round here I prolly could've gotten about 7k with as clean and solid as it is. But I'm glad I hooked the boy up with a truck I know is solid. I think I paid just under 10k for it with 180k.

Of course since I finally bought myself something nice like that I get laid off, luckily enough the only debt I have is the car loans, so I've only gotta worry about less than 1k a month.

Stop/Start is shit, but every vehicle with maybe 10 min of work should allow you to permanently remove it.

For example, when the trucks, you just need to plug in a 7pin tester in to the 7 pin trailer plug and, voila, no more of that non sense.

I suspect you would be able to do similar with a car with the harness that plugs in to add a tow package.

The point is that if you need a loan to purchase a salvage vehicle, you can't afford it. Banks know this, and they know the owner is likely to incur proportionately large expenses to the value of the vehicle to get it rolling. The fact that the vehicle isn't roadworthy in the first place is a no-go for lenders.

My 120k mile 2007 Suburban would go for somewhere between $12000 (many with 20-50K more miles) & $20K (50k less miles).  A bunch listed at 14-17K with 10-20k more miles.

I paid $16K 5 years ago (with 87k miles)

I traded in my 2019 4runner that I bought in 2018 on a new Tundra in June. The same dealership I bought it from gave me almost 4K more than I bought it new for ... from them. It had 25,000 miles there was zero used inventory when I got the Tundra and hardly and new because the plants in Texas shut down for almost 2 months because of the COVID

Or the used boat market. Considered selling due to being able to double my money on my 30 year old boat.

I'll just get a signature loan.

To be serious though, if you think this is bad you should look at the new boat market. It's way nuttier

That makes sense, I’ll just go through my business bank
