$450 MSRP is “speedy”?

I guess you don’t do green eyed wizardry, do ya?

Everything I saw as $799.

$499 right now at Kenzie’s Optics.

Ok, I thought one of the videos said $450 MSRP. I was wrong.

~1,000 hour battery life and no shake awake?

That totally eliminates it from HD use for me. I want my optic on and ready to rock the second I pick up my rifle, no fumbling with buttons under stress to turn it on.

Aimpoints have good enough battery life to leave on 24/7 and change the battery once every few years.
View Quote

Yes. Lasers take more battery life than LEDs. If Aimpoint had a circle dot instead of just a dot, their battery life would got down as well.

Any word if it will be offered in any color other than black?

The Krylon Universal Conversion System (painters tape not included, shake can before use) should work on these.

$799 MSRP puts me out of the game.

Very interested in trying this, but I love my Eotech and Aimpoints and they can be had for significantly less, even NV compatible.

I thought the originals were cool, but never bought one.

What are the primary improvements with gen 2?

True NVG compatible
Gen1 was too bright

Except you don’t have to worry about this being garbage and breaking just sitting in the safe, and if it does Vortex has excellent CS and a lifetime warranty as opposed to EOjunk who will straight up ignore your RMA for a month like are with me right now. Brand new XPS3-0.  Faded reticle right out of the box.

Way cheaper? I just got a 512 Eotech for $400 from a sale at PSA.

This isn't 2005 anymore, eotechs are great. I believe vortex tried to overtake them and failed, now they're trying again lol

His brand new EoTech sucks and they’re ignoring it. Right now.

It’s all right in his post that you quoted. Teebus

Listen, strange reviewers, with one post, lying in creeks dispensing optics is no basis for a system of reviews. Supreme review credibility derives from the GD masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

I ordered mine through scope list. Says their in stock and they guarantee stock accuracy. I got it for 459 and sold my gen 1 for 450. So win win I hope. Mainly I liked the larger viewing window as that was my only real complaint vs my old eotech. The newer battery cap is a nice touch.  But hey for $30 difference why not?!

Btw I did confirm with vortex that the lenses on the gen 2 are glass and not polycarbonate as some of the early gen 1 were.

I've heard the reticle on these are a bit sharper than an Eotech's.  I wonder if that's true.

@curlyjive

Did an offer of 450 and they accepted. I guess I'll try it out at that point.

Mine was an automatic offer just from me emailing about it being in stock. I didn’t even bother with asking for more ona new product. But cool they did it for you!

Mine comes tomorrow. Hopefully it’s gtg so I can ship my gen 1 to its new home.

So far I like it! Compared to the gen 1 while I still have it it is in every way better unless you used the usb charging port.

Bigger rear window is noticeable especially side by side
Less tint. Almost none really
Lighter especially when comparing the two
Reticle blooms less even at max brightness.
No multiple reticle issues
Can’t test the NV but I’m sure it’s fine
The battery cap is a nice touch and a functionality beneficial

Im good with this until the gen 3 with side buttons arrives??

Got mine today and I really like it so far huge field of view really love the mount and controls everything works great I can't wait to try the NV setting very soon.

The cool part is it was perfectly zeroed out of the box for my 300 blackout pistol with subs @ 25yards, tested the 10yrd lower triangle and that worked as well.

I roughed in sighting last night with a chamber laser boresight. Was way easier than the gen 1. Something about the coatings on the gen one made it impossible to see the laser dot. Gen 2 no issues at all. Definitely a clearer optic.
