Tim Miller Says ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ Will ‘Scare the F*ck’ Out of Misogynistic Internet Trolls
Major movie franchises such as “Ghostbusters” and “Star Wars” have been targeted by misogynistic internet trolls in recent years for prominently featuring female characters in leading roles. View Quote James Cameron’s “Terminator” franchise has long been dominated by one of cinema’s greatest female characters, Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), and the upcoming reboot “Terminator: Dark Fate” triples down on leading women by casting Hamilton opposite Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes. View Quote “If you’re at all enlightened, she’ll play like gangbusters. If you’re a closet misogynist, she’ll scare the fuck out of you, because she’s tough and strong but very feminine,” Miller said. View Quote “We did not trade certain gender traits for others; she’s just very strong, and that frightens some dudes. You can see online the responses to some of the early shit that’s out there, trolls on the internet. I don’t give a fuck.” View Quote |

They should remake Magic Mike with an all female cast instead.

Their box office returns are going to scare the fuck out of investors.
This hopefully will be the last arrow in the heart of this monstrosity. T1 & T2. It should have ended there. |

What are they talking about? That's a dude in the middle, right?

If it's a decent movie, with a decent story, then I give zero fucks what gender the cast members are as long as they're decent actors that are playing their roles well. The most recent "Ghostbusters" movie had a couple decent cast members, trying to do their jobs well, but it was such a turd that they had no chance.

As long as they're not trying to sell that chick in the middle as Joan Conner it could still be watchable.

Wikipedia describes the being in the middle as a "Canadian Actress"

well, calling your core audience names worked so well for the Battlefield video game

It's the absolute truth. They don't understand people but pat themselves on the back and tell themselves and each other they do. Then it comes across as insulting every time. Why anyone patronizes that industry is beyond me. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

With a strong female protagonist, there must be an evil, white male Terminator to kill. Kill the patriarchy! Gurll Powah!
D*mmit, I wish they'd just tell a good story without an infusion of SJW & feminism. It's OK if Sarah Conner is tough but don't John look like a helpless idjit. |
|
technically it's a chick. she was in the recent Blade Runner
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4496875/ It's pretty funny they're trying to make it girl power by making the girl look like a boy. |

She was strong, tough, and still human without pushing the GURL POWER narrative at the expense of the male supporting cast. |

I've never had a problem with strong female leads. What I do have a problem with is retconning everything ever done and making straight white males to be emasculated little bitches all in the name of toxic misandry and muh diversity.
Fuck Terminator: Social Justicebot and fuck militarized misandrist cunts, liberals and democrats. |

Strong women and a soy boy (at least I think that is a guy).
Hollywood's overwhelming desire to put PC above all else is really proving to be their undoing. I used to be a huge movie nut, anxiously looking forward to the summer blockbuster films. Haven't been to a theater in years, don't buy discs or downloads and frankly have no interest in 95% of what they put out these days. |

Most women don't scare me in the physically intimidating kind of way. Probably because I'm a man and bigger and/or stronger than them.
That's frequently not true for the male types in Hollywood. |

It looks like basically the same movie they've already done over and over to me

They know the film is in trouble. They’re already building their case about how it’s not their fault when it bombs.

In other words, if it flops it will confirm their confirmation bias and completely justify their worldview. Men aren't afraid of strong female leads. Ellen Ripley was a perfect example of that. Virtue Signaling is not an economically viable business strategy.
And like Ghostbusters fem edition, people will be shamed as misogynists for not wanting to go see this drek. |
|
Their movie, their rules. Let them do what they want and the sales will let them know if it was the right choice or not.
