Well, I decided to cook a standing rib roast for Christmas dinner this year.  I had the wife order an 8 pound roast from our local meat guru, "My Butcher Frank".  It was $94.00! .... $94.00! .... Holy mad cows, Batman!

I'm selling all my guns and buying some cattle for the back yard.

Merry Christmas.

The price of beef will be coming down soon. Read about all the countries not importing our beef anymore.

Gee, Frank stuck it to you.

There is a 14.5 lb rib roast in my kithen that says $6.99\lb on the sticker.

And my wife paid $5.99\lb

Damn, that is expensive.  I just paid $40.00 for a six-pound rib roast.

I told my wife that we need to pay close attention to the price of beef over the next couple of weeks.  If there is a serious plunge because of the import bans, I'm going to fill up the freezer.

We raise our own (dairy farm). Nothing can beat a corn-fed heifer! Always have one lined-up for when the freezer gets low.

Wow that is really expensive. I've pretty much switched over to chicken, & pork for most but not all of my meat. True, beef will be coming down soon, good for us consumers in the short run, but bad for the cattle industy in the short & long term. I hope many of the cattle ranchers can weather it.

Wife bought a roast last Friday, came home cooked it then brought it to my work for my Xmas lunch. Great piece of meat. (the roast, well the wife isn't bad either). $3.69 per pound.

For god sake, haven't ya'll heard of Corned Beef. I can get a nice one for $5 bucks at the local Wal-Mart. Throw in a Cabbage and some 'taters and ya've got some real good eatin'.

High or low, the price of beef will never deter my family.  We are "beef people", and not just by what we eat.

That being said, in some parts of the country people are being raped at the meat market....shame.

One word.....venison!

If you live in an area with a lot of 'em, they're not all that expensive, either.

As I type I have a few pounds of venison summer sausage in the oven, to be used for snacks tommorrow.

You should have checked the EE board. A couple of weeks ago I traded a guy a beat-to-shit bolt carrier for a 10 lbs rib-roast. Guy shipped it Tuesday the 9th, and I recieved it yesterday just in time for Christmas.

Our 8 pound prime rib roast was $46.  No bones either...
