A buddy of sent me this link where some people had colored in their glocks slide etchings in w/ white crayons.  It looks pretty good, I think.  I decided to try it the other day, and am quite pleased w/ the results.  It kind of changes up the look to the gun, and you can't tell it wasn't meant to be, except that it wasn't like that before.  At first, I was aprehensive, but after I got the Glock logo filled in, I was impressed w/ the look.

Here's a pic of what it looks like.

Dude, that is not very tactical. [;D]

However I do use that method to bring out markings when I am photographing my old rifles.

Pimpy dude!
You can buy a lacquer stick from Brownells intended for that purpose, more durable than crayon.

I'm thinking about doing the "SAFE" and "FIRE" engravings on my CMP lower in red and white, just like Zee Germans do (H-K).

Anyone used this? How easy is it to use? Can it be removed if you don't like the results?

You can also use a "china marker"

You can get them at art supply stores, and they have different colors.

I picked up a white china marker at the local Ace Hardware. Home Depot, Menards, Wal-Mart, Sears Hardware and other carry red and yellow, but no white.

I used mine to fill in some the lettering on the Yugo SKS grenade launcher. I got a bit overzelous and cleaned the white right out of the numbers.

Yeah, I remember like two or three years ago when this was the hot next trend over at Glock Talk.

I did the Caliber and small Glock logos on the slide of my G17s. I was afraid to go further. It looks nice though.

For all that think this is ghey and all, certain manufacturers DO send out there firearms/accessories with white paint in the lettering *ahem* KAC rings right outside the door[rolleyes]

It's your gun and your CRAYON. Dowhatchalike.

Damn, I thought this thread was going to be a crayon shooting attachment idea. Kinda like the GLA (Golfball Launching Attachment) for the prebans

Well actually I used to put loaded cigarettes in the barrel of CO2 pellet guns and they would spray all the tobbacco contents about 5 feet.

For a gold look , get some leaf gold and rub it in after cleaning all oils off, looks good, and is lasting.

If you have ever delt with Muasers, Lugers or any firearms that mught have Military crest or lots of markings this is nothing new. I fail to see however, what the point of leaving it on the firearm is. I mean you color the markings white for photos, to make symbols clear for display and such, but beyond that, well doesnt make much sense.

Turned out pretty good, and holds up nicely.

I like it, if you don't it's easily reversible.
