ever hear of the ar47? its a cross between the ar15 and the ak47. not sure if it has loose tolerances or not.
The big point these days however is not about loose tolerances as much as other things. with new coatings for metal - robar's self lubricating NP3 and rogaurd for instance - It may be possible to give a firearm with tighter tolerances as much reliability as one with looser tolerances. and perhaps a gun with a combo of both looser tolerances and good efficient metal coatings will be the wave of the future. You will see this material again. [;)] |

The current design of the AR15 is just fine, every fine machine needs a little TLC, if you do your job, the AR15 will do it's.
