Does anybody make anything like this? I was thinking like a 50g bullet in 10mm or something? Just so you could get insane velocities out of the muzzle.

Consider turning a 10mm bullet out of nylon round stock or something similar.  

Okay I just looked at RBCD and for 10mm they list a 77 grain bullet with 2420 fps and 1015 ftlbs. Is that for real? 2320 fps out of a freaking 10mm handgun!?! Over 1000 ftlbs!?!

Holy scheeit. Is there some kind of number inflation in there? They even have 9mm listed at 590 ftlbs.

Good Lord! That's incredible. I wonder what the wound characteristics of a round like that would be. If it's moving that fast it has to penetrate, even if it is lighter. Sounds a little like the FNfive and seven. Would it pierce armor effectively?

[peep] Well the effective protection of level III-A body armor is only up to 1400 fps. Velocity slices through things before they have a chance to absorb the energy or move out of the way. Hmmmmm...........

Now I know that McUZI relates to a lot of things, but could you clue in the clueless on this one? [:D]

.223 Timbs, a 7.62x25mm cartridge with a saboted .224  bullet.  You shoot them through a CZ-52, has velocity of around 1,950 fps.

McUZI recently bought a 1911 chambered for .224 Boz.  Some idiot sold it to him.  It's literally a one-of-a-kind gun.  Manufacturers do not sell guns chambered for that round to civilians.

They made TWO guns, a full-sized and a commander.  McUzi owns the commander model.

How is McUZI going to buy the ammo for this gun? Isn't .224 botz restricted by the manufacturer or government? I wanted a handgun in this caliber (like the apparently luck SOB McUZI [:D]) but remember that it was just not on the scopes of possibility.

Haven't done any research yet, but has this type of thing been done for a .308 rifle?

Fastest I ever shot was Aguila IQ in 45ACP--a 117gr alloy bullet that goes 1450 fps.  Too bad the USP doesn't like it one bit.

The beauty is that the .224 Boz is just a necked-down 10mm with a sabot.  McUZI's a 10mm fan and has all the reloading gear and plenty of cases.

One word comes to mind:  Crappy.

Speed does not always equal penetration.  Especially when it's a frangible bullet with a large front surface area.  You'll end up with a shallow wound that is likely to not reach any critical structures.

If the above is actually true then it is more of a question of how many seconds the person will survive the wound. A 12" cavity that is 12" deep in the chest region would pretty much destroy [b]every[/b] critical structure.

If this is real untouched up data then I am sold.

Dense bullets(Lead) penetrate better. Forget all this "Magic bullet" nonsense.

That's why I use a .44 240gr.HP instead of a 180gr. HP.

I want that bullet to penetrate all the way thru the deer and leave a hole on each side for the blood to run out.

Animals are tough, you want something that will break thru the muscle and bones and reach the vitals.

... same goes for felons, as far as I'm concerned.
