I have a BS in Criminal Justice.  i am taking LEO tests, but looking for security jobs for the time being.  I just started with a company through a temp agency w/o benefits.  i live at home.  Well i just got a call from a security company in rochester, ny that wants me to take a character test and interview and then hire.  the pay for the rochester agency is a bit hire, but i get benefits from the start.  also i really want to move back to rochester but i dont want to just blow off the current job because they are training me.  The roch agency said most likely with my degree i wont have a problem getting in.  my problem is that i need to take time to go to roch for the test and interview but i dont want to just quit the place im working for now.  please advise.

Got any vacation time saved up????

It's flu season. Call in sick.

Never quit one job before you have another. BIG risk. However, never treat you current employer dishonestly in order to go 'interview' with the potential employer. If your current employer finds out, it is grounds for termination. If your potential employer finds out, it is grounds to not offer or retract an offer for new employment.

Be straight up and honest. Use your time (vacation, personal) to take care of stuff like this. That is why you have it.
