My child has been exposed to head lice. That’s just great.

Better exposed to head lice than liberalism.
They should send a letter for that. |
|
3 cases of head lice in my boys' room
3 cases of strep in my daughter's Merry Christmas |
|
|
Its no big deal.
Special shampoo, fine toothed comb. Fumigate his PJs and bedclothes. Then he can go back to school tomorrow and catch them right back! BTDT. |

The Office says a mayonnaise coating will kill it.
Bring out the Hellman’s. Bring out the best. Merideth from The Office went scorched earth and shaved her head. Lord help me if I ever get lice, my family would not know me. Hoping for the best Assman. |

Btdt with my kiddos. Very annoying, but thankfully there is no disease or illness exposure. And it has nothing to do with pets, or how “clean” you or your home is.
Now, they probably sent that letter home with every child. Might not mean your child has lice. |
|
The local school district policy is to not send the infected child home. Apparently it is better to expose the other children than embarrass the kid.

Monthly lice checks are standard practice here for my daughter. It's not as bad now that she is in elementary school, in daycare/preschool it seemed like lice checks where weekly events and buying the shampoo and spray happened every grocery run. Goddamned shithead "parents" that send their fucktrophies to school with whatever-the-fuck illness they have that week

When I was a kid they did like an annual inspection. A nurse would come in and check everyone's head for bugs. You always new who had em because next day a couple kids would show up with shaved heads.
|
|
Atleast you got a letter, at my kids school they aren't allowed to send letters home because feels. So if my kids get exposed we get to find out after, our whole house and everybody we know has fucking bugs.

My kids got them last year.
The over the counter shampoos did not work, and the nit combs that came with them were junk. I bought a couple terminator nit combs of Amazon, they worked very well. They get nits and the eggs. Also used a hairdryer. Desiccating the bugs and eggs kills them. |
|
I'll add that one to the list of why we keep our kids at home for their education.
Thanks for that OP! |
|
Not a big deal. Happens with kids. We had a kid bring them to baseball - 10 out of 12 players got them and 3 of MY kids. Shit happens.

Lice are getting resistant to most of the commercial treatments now .
Comb , shave , Mayo , or RX |

I gaved up on trying to point people toward proper medical information, but sometimes the simple reading version https://familydoctor.org/condition/head-lice/ the more medical worded version http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/135/5/e1355 main points - check everyone for lice don't go and fumigate the house if there are lice, because they don't survive long off a person's head shampoo with the treatment, and re-shampoo in 9 days if lice still present |

View Quote In fact, I was personally informed recently, that even when they know exactly WHO the child is with head lice, they WILL NOT treat it as a "communicable" issue/virus/disease/bacteria/threat - and they WILL NOT even request that the kid stay home from school!!! So basically...ALL KIDS WITH TONS OF HAIR LICE, FLEAS, SCABIES, CRABS, and ANYTHING ELSE - YOU ARE WELCOME AT OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS!!! INFECT AWAY!!!... |

Its so common in FloriDUH there are businesses that specialize in lice removal.
