The best part was the last line.
"You've got a lot of growing up to do buddy. Suck my balls."
Actually, the kid made a good point, with which I agree: The origins of a religious belief aren't so important as ITS CURRENT MANIFESTATION. In other words, what are its adherents doing to better themselves and society. What's important is "What the church teaches NOW..."
Applies to a lot of religions, no?

I hear this a lot concerning ALL religions and part of me wants to agree. After all, "IF" something makes you or someone else a better person then that should be all that matters.
BUT, why could you then not just "be a better person"? Why the need for the hokey mumbo jumbo? All it does is open the door for the entire thing to be discredited. And 99% of the time they have to pull "it's all about faith, we don't need proof" out of their butt and then there you are.
Why could the churches not simply say "We believe in God, period. The Church is here to help you be a better person, period." I could understand that. It is when they try and tell fairy tales with a straight face that they lose me and many other rational people.
Hell Mormons are probably the nicest people on the planet, but I think they are nuts if they actually believe that crap.
