Killer movie, saw it when it first came out in Phoenix AZ. at the Midnight Movies, I won tickets on the raido.  If I didn't have NHL Center Ice and Hockey(the Greatest game on the planet)wasn't on I'd watch but, alas, Hockey is on and that's what I'll be watching. Plus, the wife is bring home a batch of crawdads form Wal-Mart for me to cook up so I'll be eating crawdads, drinking home made shine and watchin' Hockey.  Thanks for the heads up anyway.

Great movie!  Very funny IMO.

Also, isn't there another movie that is the prequel to this?  What's the name?  I still have to see it.

There are a couple. They are the "Evil Dead" movies. I haven't seen them either

The ending with the store fight was not the first choice ending, the film company decided on it.  The originally intended ending is in the directors cut.  They make him a potion that will allow him to sleep until his time catches upto him.

He says the words wrong (again) and over sleeps.

I've got a version on VHS that doesn't have this line.  After blasting EvilAsh his line is "...I'm not that good."
Kinda of a suprise because that's the same exact line Bruce Campbell said as Autolycus in the Hercules:The legendary Journeys ep where he went back in time & had to kick the ass of his obnoxious younger self (who had just did the 'goody two shoes' dance).  The "Gimme some sugar, baby" line showed up in another Hercules ep Bruce was in.  But then again, both H:TLJ & X:WP were made by the same folks as ED & AOD.  Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, music by Jo LoDuca....

He also did a space-fighter video game called Tachyon that I enjoyed.

I like this movie, though not my favorite in the series. I liked the chainsaw hand far more then the metal gaunlet, and that the final battle goes on for 10-15 minutes too long.

The interesting thing is that there are quite a few different versions around, with different scenes and qoutes inserted and deleted. Some skip a big chunk of the windmill sequence and change the line when he shoots bad ash, as well as the qoute about "Maybe my boys can stop them". And of course, the two endings, which I still can't decide which one I like better. "S-mart" was delicously over the top, though "Slept too long" was appropriatly downbeat.

I think Evil Dead 2 narrowly edges it out as a better movie.

Evil Dead is good, but not in the same way. It's a good job of making a disturbing horror flick on shoestring budget, and is pretty impressive when you find out what they had to go through to get it made(Freezing weather, bad roads, time overruns, etc).
