Not a lot has changed.  I had a 92 but it was and is harder to conceal.  J-frame smith, Colt 1911 in 45 acp and a Smith 66.

I had others but those are what I ended up packing 99% of the time.

But I will be honest, I never really saw CZ75s and P7's in my lgs.

Any of the ruger p series. I had a new p89 when they came out in 86. Still have it in vehicle today. A very solid gun.

4506 or 4566

9mm of the day was a little anemic...so bullet size it is.

I carried either a Star PD, or an Auto Ordnance 1911A1. Or both.

In 86 you had the P85, the P89 came out in 1989.

Nothing. I already had my 10mm. Wouldn't have needed anything else.

Back then I alternated between a Walther PP in .32, and a Walther P5 9mm. Social or serious.

Plenty of options that are still viable today.

1911 from a reputable source would top my list

A Series 70 1911 and M14 clone, because only 45 was powerful enough, and you can’t kill anything bigger than a chihuahua with 5.56.

A 1911 in .45. Duh.

A Beretta 92 in 9mm, a S&W 5906, S&W 439, and CZ-75 are all on the list as well.

A Star BM isn't a bad idea either.

I could shoot the 92 but wasn’t a fan of the open barrel. One of the 9mm Smiths, probably a 669 for a carry gun.

I imagine so, since it was an earlier development before .40 killed it.

That was a decent round in a decent design that never caught on... the Baby Eagle/Jericho 941 in .41 AE.
