I received an email, OK, a boatload of emails from PSA offering this or that for what they call an amazing deal.Most of it is crap that I don't want or offered for a price that I can beat elsewhere.
Last week end I get an email offering 1000 rds of Federal M193 for $299 shipped. Not a smoking deal, but descent. So, instead of looking around for a better deal, I pull the trigger and order.
That was on the 8th. CC was dinged almost immediately, but so far, no ammo or even a promise of perhaps someday actually shipping the ammo. The "order status" feature on their website states "Processing.'' As if I don't know what that really means. They are using my money to conduct their business instead of actually having the offered product on hand when they advertise it for sale. That is a dishonest way of doing business.
SO, I assume that once they get their ammo shipment in that I will eventually get my ammo sometime before my own expiration date.

I never get this crap from SGAMMO. If they don't have it on hand, you can't even put the item in your cart. And they ship fast and have competitive prices and a very good selection. From hence forth, when I buy loaded ammo, it will be from SG.

Yeah, I know, CSB, and all that jazz.

Not to get into PSA’s business but I would think profit made from sales of these lowers is made from the sale of all the other parts it takes to complete a weapon. But would be curious as to profit on a lower after initial tooling cost, material, machine time, coating and the after math. Maybe a dollar or 2 if that?

Idk what the rules are with the atf and legal stuff I guess.
You can do that all day long with 80s tho.

I’m thinking they make the roll mark in house as well buy still. It all adds up and at 2500 units, there isn’t much margin. All I can say is if not for these specialty lower, I wouldn’t have as many AR’s as I do now. And plan is to have at least 1 of all calibers available for the platform.

The 'roll mark' is just a program change. There is no special setup or tooling vs doing their traditional engraving. Just a new program and all the legal mumbo jumbo.

Yes. @brickworx does his awesome art work at our request, then shoots the file over to PSA programmers and they are probably running mastercam. They make the program based off the art work provided. Post it out. Set up guy or machinist loads that variation of the program and off he goes. And before production, Josiah or whomever takes care of the ATF stuff.

Yep. And atf variation approvals was what delayed some of the original lowers. Josiah submitted a bunch at once, but they came back late.

if memory serves, it takes about 12.00 for a lower to be produced stripped but finished.

LOL that is what I was thinking. I decided to do some big bore builds and gave thought to a SNEK lower for a 450 Bushmaster or a Bushmaster lower. I waited too long and missed the countless postings of the SNEK. Still not sure...but if I had one that had 450 as the SN it would be a done deal
