Painting it is the longest lasting fix, tire shine holds up ok.

I repainted mine on my old car with a special trim spray paint. It looked brand new and didn't fade while I owned the car. I will prolly do it to my current car. Don't remember the exact product.

Depends on the trim. Sometimes its paint or dye. Sometimes its a heatgun.

I'm going to get flamed for this, but for the past two years on 3 different vehicles, I have just used Meguiar's Tire Shine on the plastic. It has not caused any issues at all, and I never have had fading issues. This is also on vehicles that are not garaged and get constant sun exposure as our driveway is in sunlight from am to pm.

I used Back to Black for years. Then gave Armor All Outlast a try. It's by far a better product and keeps plastics black longer.

A product called refinish restore. Its absolutely the best thing you can use to refinish faded plastic. Use gloves because it stinks to high heaven when you're using it. The results literally last years

It sucks into the pours of black trim, bumpers, ect. For some reason there are 3 or 4 partial cans in my locker. |

Definitely give a heat gun a try and see how you like it. My second suggestion would be a 303 product. No experience with the mothers stuff to report.
The trick to the heat gun is yet to g the right amount of heat and constantly moving. Obvious, but overlooked. Worked great on some older Yamaha jet skis I had. |

None, they are all useless!
Trim paint is the way to go. Clean well with simple green, then wipe down with acetone on a clean rag, mask off area & spray plastic adhesive promoter (follow the directions on can) on the trim, 2 coats should be good. Then spray 3 coats of trim paint (Follow directions on the can), wait an hour or so & remove the blue masking tape.let it dry for a day or so It took me 1 hour to do my jeep body side trim & it looks great. |

I use Mother's, but you need to start early in the ownership of the vehicle and the black trim will last and stay new looking much longer.
Once it goes gray, it fades back quickly. |
