Destin is a smart guy.

He has applied multiple times to be an astronaut but has been turned down each time. He has the education and industry background to qualify.

Smartereveryday is one YouTube subscription everyone should have. He shoots guns also.

What is mind blowing is that ISS is a little bigger than a football field and it orbits the Earth at about 4.7 miles per second. 17,200mph.

An object that big moving that fast.

SED is one of the best channels on YT and should be on everyone's subscriptions. I was a Patreon of his from the first day he asked until last month when I was laid off.

Hopefully one day he'll get this chance with the astronaut program. I'm afraid he won't get it when he's going against legit combat-proven SEAL doctors. If he does, I predict he'll be the face of the program shortly there after.

Dang I just found this and put it in the "awesome" thread, didn't see this one till now. My favorite quote:

Funny that his reaction mirrored mine in just about every way. I had a bunch of cameras set up and everything, hoping to set it on auto, forgot to take the lens caps off the binos till halfway through, but the best description was that my mind was overwhelmed.

I've spotted the ISS here in Wisconsin several times over the years, what really impressed me was how fast it covered the angular width of the sun.

It seems "slow" when you watch the ISS cover the sky from horizon to horizon, taking over a minute, but when you compress it to a still shot with a background to gauge it against like the sun, you really can see it zipping along with it's orbital velocity.

I've seen the photos of other sun transits of the ISS, but never one in video. I didn't realize how quick it was.
