Arrived 2:30 am on the nose

I drove straight through from Troy, NY to Fort Myers, FL in about 27 hours I believe it was. It was dumb, and required the use of Vivarin. Will never attempt it again.

In June, Santa Rosa New Mexico to Akron, Ohio. 8 AM Thursday morning (NM time) 3:00 PM Friday afternoon (Ohio time).

That's nothing... Done plenty of long drives like this. You reach expert level when you can piss in a bottle at 80 without spilling a drop or having the cops called on you.

The 16 hour drive I made was totally heinous and I will never do it again.

I've driven from L.A. back home to SC in 2 days, more than once. Last time, I stopped for about 6 hours at a rest area ~an hour east of Amarillo, then the rest of the way home.

food and bathroom breaks made it 16.5 hours

10 to 10 = 12 hours

10 to 2:30 = 4.5 hours

total 16:30

comes out to 63 miles an hour average

made excellent time, did it on Saturday, zero traffic

I like to stop every 5 minutes and do a half hour long tai chi routine. you must stay limber and centered

I'm looking at a road trip from Phoenix to Austin. It's right on the boarder line of one leg or two.

Two children and my wife, solo I would knock it out in one leg. If we made it a two leg trip our stop would be around El Paso or some shit boarder town.

You guys inspire me to pack piss bottles and sandwiches.

My personal record is 1300 miles with only gas stops when I was 20. Was not authorized distant liberty while at NAS Pensacola and had to be back for a Sunday evening muster

Old Orchard Beach Maine to Mayport FL. in 23 1/2 hours only stopping for gas/food/BR. (solo)

Sanford Maine to Indianapolis ID and back 36 hours, stopped for gas/food/BR and to get friends daughter there. (three drivers one car)

Would never do either again, but was lower 20's age wise at the time.

these days a 4 hour drive makes me want to stay home.

Back in the early 70s I went from Ft. Sill, OK to Scituate MA straight through in some old 360 cc Subaru POS.

IIRC 46 hours rings a bell.

I had just gotten out of AIT.

I used to drive from Iowa to MD straight through every year. About 1200 miles. The older I get I don't enjoy it as much. Two years ago I drove from Iowa to Sarasota straight through. That was just over 1600 miles. I was a zombie when I arrived at my families house. Never again.

I do it from Orlando to Berks county in 16-17 hours once or twice a year. Beats loading 6 kids on a plane.

Anyway, good for you, Iron Butt. That takes some doing. I figured out a long time ago that 800-900 miles a day was my absolute limit.

I drive straight through from Sarasota FL to Jackson NJ once a year in around 18 hours. Lots of coffee and water! Won't fall asleep if you have to piss.

I drove 8 hours to Orlando, waited 4 hours for our daughter to get back with her class, and then drove 8 hours home.

She got kicked off a field trip for duct taping/hog tying another girl up. They were all in on it until chaperones got wind of it. Then the hog tied girl backed out being a willing participant. Everyone else got booted out.

Longest I've done was 845ish miles. Middletown, DE to Lincoln, IL. Probably the most expensive trip I've taken too. I hydroplaned and totaled my SUV about 30 mins from home, limped the SUV back home, unloaded it and loaded everything into my regular cab Ranger then started all over again.

A few years back I drove from Abilene TX back to central PA all in one shot, no stopping except for gas and to let the dogs do their business every few hours.

1,530 miles in 26 hours, I'd do it again actually but this time I'd be sure to do it in a vehicle that had A/C, since when I did that I still had my Jeep, and seeing how that was at the beginning of August it made it pretty rough until I hit Kentucky.

Drove from Henderson, KY to Las Vegas non-stop...by myself. 1760 miles. Took me about 30 hours.

Spent 24 hours in Vegas resting up and drove the rest of the way to Kings Canyon National Park non-stop.

Roughest long distance one-shot trip I've done is Daytona to VA through a March blizzard. Took 18 hours. It snowed its ass off the entire way from GA to VA. The snowflakes were falling as big as golf balls in GA.

My personal solo long distance driving record was from central Washington to Fairbanks, Alaska, in February, in a snowstorm, in 57 hours. Obviously I stopped to sleep a few times, and many fuel, piss, and snack breaks, but I figured that was pretty good considering how lonely and treacherous the Alcan is in the middle of winter.

I'm not a 1 upper or anything but...

After hurricane Katrina, I drove from Kansas City to Omaha to pick up a camper, them Omaha to Gulfport Mississippi to drop the camper off, and back to Kansas City. Straight through.

Also flew from Kansas City to San Francisco to buy a peterbilt and drove the truck back to Kansas City all in one fell swoop.

I can stay awake a long damn time when I need to.

I guess the longest solo nonstop drive I've made is 5-6 hours.

Way back when, I did a ~15 hour straight through trip with a buddy from St Louis to Philadelphia. I only did the middle 5 hours though.

Man, I can't do those drives anymore. Longest was Lawrence, Kansas to Buffalo NY. I think it took 24 hours. Cooler of sandwiches on the front seat and a stack of 8-tracks. Got into my aunt's place, took a nap for a few hours, and drove the eight hours from Buffalo to Boston.

Ft.Carson Colorado to Albany NY in July 1985. 31 hours. I was a 19 year old 11B in a 1983 CJ-5 with the top folded down. The rain in St. Louis was ridiculous.
