For a PDW, a Kabar or similar.  For hunting, a crossbow.

My Cold Steel Sword Cane.  I look like a lame old guy with it but I've got a big surprise ready in an instant.

I've taken some life with a shovel.

First post reminds me of the shovel fight thread from a few years ago.  That video was hilarious.

My bow.

I actually shoot it way more often than I shoot my guns.

A nice 8-11" bowie with a sharpened back edge to allow for a nice back cut.  A khukuri would be a close second.  Only because I don't own a katana or a spear.

I have a walking staff that my brother made me years ago. Its 46 inches of slightly curved hickory, about an inch and a quarter at the bottom and slightly over two inches at the top. its extremely hard, extends my reach over six feet and hits like a baseball bat. it looks rustic and nice cause its got some of those national park hiking emblems on it and its already in my hands when I am walking. at my age, nobody questions a walking stick.if needed I would hold the bottom end and swing the thicker top end.

This.  Mine is oak and 60 inches. It has traveled thousands of miles of trails as my friend and protection.  You never know when you will have to whack a surly moose or talk a buzz worm out of evil intent.

Conventional weapons like machetes or hatchets are great.

I carry a short handled titanium spork I my carry on when I travel...

Leaving Denver airport the TSA lady yelled at me for the "Bear Claw"  in my carry on bag I was confused until she grabbed my spork...I then told her to get her germ filled hands off my eating utensil. The look on her face was priceless..

My crazy Canadian ex used to dunk hers under a running faucet to get it good and annoyed, and then throw it at me when she'd get pissed off.

She was a redhead and French-Canadian so yeah, she was pretty much always pissed off...

In that case, framing hammers are nice....or a sharpened 1/2" square shank screwdriver.

Wouldn't you want a longer one?
