I'm traveling to CO next week and bringing my standard CCW plus a backup and a gun for the wife.

Should I only bring 10 round mags? What's the latest on the law? I will be traveling through Denver to get to the final destination (Summit county) and am mostly worried about getting pulled over. I have my license and CO honors it but the magazine law is what makes me iffy.

I'll let someone from CO answer the rest, but yes, the limit there is 15 rather than 10.

This. Along with sheriffs saying they won't enforce it.

I hunt pronghorn antelope in SE WY but I fly in and out of DIA. Would I get hassled or in trouble if I decide to bring a 308 AR with 20 rd mags instead of my typical bolt gun setup?

No, it is probably the most painless experience flying with handguns and rifles out of any airport I've been to recently.

Literally, their only job is to make sure that the weapon and magazines are not loaded, they could give less of a shit as to whether it's a short barrel rifle, machine gun, or has evil 30 round magazines.

You can't buy more than 15 round mags (hint: you can).  You can possess any size magazine.  Don't worry about it.

It's really only annoying if you're trying to get something exotic (MP5 mags were a pain in the ass to source) because a lot of out-of-state online dealers are under the impression the bullshit mag ban matters in some way and won't ship to you.

The law says that any mag over 15 rds possessed before July 1, 2013 is kosher.  The Man would have to prove that it wasn't if they gave a f*ck.

Lived in Colorado most of my life... about to move back after a year away.

I can 100% for sure tell you to do whatever the hell you want.

Every gun shop sells magazine "kits" of all capacities and LE have publicly stated that the law is unenforceable.

I sold my condo in CO and bought one in NM when CO became a commie nation.

Will never go back.

People visiting can have any size they want.  The law is not enforced on Coloradoans, so it really doesn't matter

Exactly how it should be.  I thought they recalled the asshole that drafted that law.  They need to repeal that bullshit - I believe most of the Sheriff's won't enforce it.
