A Smokey Mountain Knife Works catalog that I just received lists an ordinary slingshot and it lists some states where they will not ship it to.

Not sure this is accurate, but it's all I found on the internet:

Slingshots, slingshot ammo, and slingshot supplies, cannot be shipped to the following states, counties or cities:

Delaware: Dover & Wilmington
Florida: St. Augustine
Illinois: Evergreen Park
New Jersey
New York: Only wrist-braced slingshots are illegal.
Massachusetts
Minnesota: Duluth
Rhode Island
South Carolina: Charleston
Tennessee: Knoxville & Johnson City
Utah: Salt Lake County
Virginia: Falls Church

I found out everything is illegal in New Jersey when we visited the kid there in March.

I grew up in NY.
Every one of us had a wrist rocket as kids.
I think I still have mine somewhere.

Just like fireworks are illegal in NY. Go hang around a nice suburban neighborhood on Long Island on July 4th.

I get what you're saying, but I'm pretty sure Rip Van Winkle went to sleep with King George ruling the colonies.

Anyway, a bunch of us had those illegal wrist rockets growing up. Just like BB guns and fireworks. A ban doesn't work on kids either.

If you want surgical tubing, order it from a woodworking catalog. They sell it for use as clamps. That's where I got mine.

I took a deep breath in NJ once and a cop wanted to write me a ticket.

Luckily I was able to swallow the evidence and he had to let me go.

They're not illegal to own anywhere here as far as I know but a lot of cities don't allow their use in city limits, same with shooting, archery, BB guns, etc.
