Nice gun.  Very reliable.

You should have coughed up the coin for a 1006.

All depends on what the gun is for. If you wanted a carry gun I would say you messed up and should have gotten the shield or something like it. If it is going to be a range toy I say have fun.

Since you gave me the option for 10mm though I voted for it. I have 6 10mm pistols though so I'm a bad person to ask.

Old picture with my delta elite, sw 1006, 610 revolver, and glock 20fs(the sf wasn't out yet). Since then I've added a glock 29 gen 4 and a sig p220 10mm sa only version. I do plan on picking up a kriss vector factory sbr in 10mm this year when I can find one(I know the others are shipping).

There are a lot of better deals on the Shield right now. I bought one at my LGS for $275 after rebate and one guy got one from Brownell's for $200 after rebate. There is a thread on here where all of the deals have been posted over the last 2 weeks.

ETA: Shield thread:

I don't want to be a downer but you can usually get those guns for about $299 with one mag than 20 for each additional set of 360 is what I would call fair.

Those are free states with no pistol rosters. Unfortunately we have one and this gun isn't on that list. If the gun isn't already in the peoples republic of Assachusetts then FFL can't transfer it. Last one I saw was going for like $900+.

If you want to see what our masters allow us to have take a look (oh and see all those glocks? those are only for LE, if they weren't on the list a FFL couldn't transfer them even with a dept letter.)

Here is our handgun roster.

Not in Assachusetts. I went to one shop and they were asking $442. Ya no thanks.

I was going to order a Shield, but with the transfer fees being $20-$30 in my AO....

I went to Academy yesterday, and got them to price match (which they'll do with their "competitors" listed on their web site).  Any-who, Academy had the Shield 9 at $399, price match with Gander Mountain at $374 *plus* Gander Mtn had a 15% off anything in the store coupon....*plus* Academy's price match policy is match +5%, so that dropped me to $302 and change, before the $75.00 rebate from S&W.
Sooo....figure my end cost with taxes on the Shield is ~$245?  Not the lowest I've seen, but....hey, I didn't have to wait!

Always wanted one of those back in the day, have heard great things about the shield though from just about everyone who owns one, hard to go wrong with either.

I still have my 5906 sitting on ready.  I'm faster and more accurate with it than any other "modern" auto I own.  Embrace the third generation.  It's the best generation.

Don't know but given we have a closed pistol roster values tend to get inflated here.

Is that a TSW or performance center slide? I've seen a few with those front slide serrations.

Took the 4506 to the range, never shot a 45 before but its pretty mild and shoots well. Gotta get better sights for it though don't like the rear sight blade.
