Look for any type of identifying ,arks on the map and search google and also check Ebay for maps of Africa, see what you can find. |

Wikipedia says Aethiopian Ocean was an archaic name for the southern Atlantic, used until ~the turn of the 19th century (1800?).

Seems to be showing a source for the Nile so I would think post 1860's.

Try finding places such as nations, towns, lakes, and other features that are easy to identify with names that have changed, then track back to learn the date when it changed.

it is hard to tell from the picture, is it in color? if it is, it could be an original. otherwise a repro. I found a couple of nice originals for sale for around $3000

Reach out to a University with a History Department in your area, they should be able to assist you in getting it authenticated or refer you to someone who can authenticate it. |
