http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/12/09/ohio-lawmakers-approve-concealed-carry-at-colleges-day-cares.html

"Lawmakers in Ohio approved legislation Friday morning expanding the state's concealed-weapons law to allow guns in colleges and day care centers and on private aircraft.

The legislation still permits those places to ban guns if they wish. It keeps a ban on concealed weapons in government buildings, including libraries."

Compromises.  Ohio has steadily been winning them back, a piece at a time.

So will this at least let us keep them in our parked cars while on campus?

"The Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police and the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association opposed the bill," big fucking surprise there.

I'm pretty sure you could already do that.

ETA: Yep

"The bill now goes to Gov. John Kasich's desk for his signature."

To the best of my knowledge has signed every gun law so far.

Oregon may suck, but at least we can CCW in schools.

Pretty sure he has, but he doesn't have a re-election to worry about now.

Cool, but we're changing the law to allow it, and you'll still be in Oregon.

You should have seen how shitty our first CCW rules, at the behest of the state patrol, were.  We had to make our guns visible from outside the car when driving.

You already had that ability.

This doesn't let you carry on a campus or into a daycare. It merely takes away the state restriction. Colleges can still have policies that prevent an individual from carrying on campus. I am betting UC doesn't allow CCW.

True, but it probably reduces the penalty for getting caught to a trespass.

Guns will still be banned by the schools, so you will be expelled/fired/removed. No real change, but good for Ohio. Concealed is concealed.

Oh, it is a real change.   There is a big difference between school administrators and the law.  Some schools will allow it, and people are free to choose those schools to attend.

Some other changes in the law include allowing guns in daycares, airport terminals, and school safety zones.   It prohibits employers from preventing you from having a gun in your car in their parking lot, and military training now satisfies the requirement for concealed carry.

The law takes effect in 90 days.

I conceal carried my Glock into the bar here the other day.

Feels good man.

You can do that here, too, as long as you're not drinking.  One step at a time...
