Out of curiosity, on a scale of 1-10 how would you rank Ann Coulter's credibility?

And the next question, how much of her work have you read to form that opinion?

She is a hottie, so she carries *mucho* credibility with me.

I'd say 6 or 7.

Marking her down, she writes in a very polemic and ideological style, with a clear bias and agenda, writing for a particular group who already agree with her.

She's completely unfair and ungracious towards those who dont agree with her.

But she's also accurate and fairly objective, and cites/endnotes her facts.  Al Franken criticized her for citing her facts as endnotes (instead of footnoting), because no one ever checks end notes.  Never mind that's the standard convention these days, and he couldn't say "Her citations are wrong".

I base my opinion mainly off her weekly columns, which I always read.  Dont really read her books because they're on topics I am already very well acquainted with.  I know Clinton's a lying scumbag.  I know the media is terribly biased towards liberalism.  I know liberals are quicker to embrace criticism of the US than to praise its virtues.  None of what she writes about is news to me.

She has some good thoughts and ideas, but her pit pull aggressive style makes her look very unprofessional.  If she didn't spin and attack so much, she'd be much better off...

Dang hielo....where you been???? Patrolling the West Bank???  [:D] Or is it me that's been missing??

On topic....

I read some of her book...didn't particualry care for here writing style...too diconnected, she kinda jumped around thru the subject matter.

But IMO...

She's about the most articulate woman I've ever seen, and has a good handle on her verbal skills. She's very knowledgeable. This is based on what I've read of her book, and her many TV appearances.

I think Condi Rice is the smartest woman I've ever seen. You should check out her resume. Freakin' genius child.....

Always read her columns.  Bought "Slander" and read it.  It was great.

I'd give her a 9.8 out of 10.

I love Ann.  She's the only woman I'd give up this perfect bachelorhood for.

I LOVE the biting satire in her columns.

THo, IMO, the style doesn't translate well into the book format.

Those qualities are both desirable and admirable - when used in applying the truth.

Liberals use them to apply lies. THEREIN lies (no pun intended) the problem.

9.9.

Too bad of liberals can't handle the truth!

Yes...MacArthy was a drunken asshole but he was right about one thing:  The United States federal government was rife with communists, commie sympathizers and socialists of every stripe, especially Foggy Bottom!.  Some were harmless boobs and some were really out to bring down our country.
Liberals today still can't come to grips with the FACTS that Alger Hiss was a fucking commie SPY!  They still believe that Nixon made all that ship up, just to get elected.  Baloney!  We now KNOW that Hiss was a stringer for the KGB.  The Libs also just refuse to accept the newly released "Venona" NSA transcripts that show that the Rosenbergs were also commie spies and were in FACT members of the spy ring that gave the A-bomb secrets to the Soviets.  They were TRUE believers too.  When offered clemency and life sentences if they talked and admitted their guilt, AFTER being shown the proof in the intercepts, (Which probably meant maybe 20-30 years in the can...meaning they could be playing with their grandkids today!), the Rosenbergs chose DEATH rather than give up a damn thing on their commie spy NKVD pals.  They sacrificed themselves and their kids for their commie beliefs.  THAT is some sick shit.
Coulter is a painful gadfly to the traitorous libs who still have dreams of successfully brining communism to the entire world.
Screw them...she's RIGHT ON!

I agree. She's on the list with Michael Savage for conservtive figures in the media fighting fire with fire. I wouldnt want her to change.

She is a 'goddess' with a small 'g' (I'm a funadamentalist, don't forget!).

I much prefer hearing her live on some show ripping an effete liberal POS a new one, than just about anyone else on our side.

And she is very easy on the eyes.

Not that that matters, of course!

If you ever want to send a liberal into a hissy fit, mention her name.    [}:D]

Strangely enough, when she's on talk shows they're never able to refute her. Imagine that.

Except a Republican woman wouldn't be either stupid enough to marry him, stay with him or be cut-throat enough to be hypocritical about staying with him.

I read her weekly columns; have seen her on T.V. with excellent factual comebacks to 'touchy feely' arguements. Have not read her books because of my  a) limited time b)familiarity with the subjects.

Ann Coulter is a hottie who hits hippies hard.

(How's that for alliteration?)

She certainly is capable, but half the time I see her on TV I am yelling at the tube, knowing she can do better...

I don't think the fact that she is overly bias and driven by agenda really diminishes her credibility at all.  Just based on the fact that she cites the facts she uses and has a larger breadth of knowledge than 10 New York Times writers makes her one of the more credible writers of out time.  Granted she can easily be viewed as one who disagrees w/ liberals just because their liberals, but that wouldn't be an accurate statement.  Many people take her tone as whiney and overly critical, but I think it really turns the tables on the liberals.  Liberals are typically the ones who whine about the issues and are overly critical of Republicans, and when the tables get turned on them (many times, she is merely jesting), they go bonkers.  I don't think she would be as good a read as she is if she did not put the liberal perspective in such a humorous light.  I think her aim in doing so is to not to just wax poetic about their faults, but to highlight the idiocy of many of their views.

I've read her weekly columns for about a year now, and only on about two occasions have I taken issue w/ the way she said something.  One article in particular was about a week or two after 9/11/01, and I think she jumped the gun on some Muslim issues (if I remember correctly).

I'd rate her at about an 8.5-9.0 in credibility.

I like the fact that she's a syndicated writer, and not really anybody's puppet, like many columnists and reporters.  She seems to have a VERY one sided view of the world, but at least she can coherently tell you why she thinks that way.I get chills every time I think of her interview w/ Katie Couric on the Today show.  She did so well, and was such a great sport.  She got Katie's panties all in a not.
