Was talking to a couple coworkers who claim to own some guns, some of the guns they said they owned are guns I've never heard of and doubt their existence (other a custom one-of model), so here are the guns in question, let me know if they are real guns (I don't believe they exist), these are all handguns:

1. Sig 10mm (I'm a 10mm fan, if Sig made one, I should know about it)

2. 44 caliber Glock (yeah right)

3. 38 caliber Beretta semi-auto (never heard of any 38 caliber semi-autos)

I would call bs on the 10mm Sig (but a 10mm 220 sounds cool doesn't it) and the 44 glock.  But a Beretta in 38 super could be possible..  I have heard of Sig 220, 1911, and others in 38 super...

Still sounds like BS

but who knows

Perhaps he meant .380 ACP?  I don't know if Beretta makes one.

I used to be into paintball and I don't know how many people insisted, against all rational arguments, that their roommate-friend-brother-niece had a paintball marker made out of an AK-47 (why ruin a perfectly servicable firearm?) that shot .30 paintballs (no such thing) and got tags out to 100's of yards (the physics boggles the mind).

None of my books show a 10mm, theymake a P239 chambered in 357SIG, but see no 10mms.

2. 44 caliber Glock (yeah right)

This for sure is a "neophite" confusing the 40 caliber for the 44, which they don't make.

3. 38 caliber Beretta semi-auto (never heard of any 38 caliber semi-autos)

Here I'm w/ Torf, again a "neophite" confusing 380 w/ 38.

I used to have a Colt 1911 in .38 Super.  And the Beretta 84 is a .380.

And maybe the 10mm Sig is really a 10mm short a/k/a .40 S$W.  Or maybe he's just full of it.

Finally scroll down to the bottom of the link and you'll see a Glock 44.  Too bad it's all in German.  I think it's some sort of gamers' page.

I'd definitely call [bs] on this one.

They sure do. Elvis shot out his TV in Vegas with that model, saw the very gun up for sale on gunsamerica about a year ago (cool, huh?)

I saw a sweet one with a threaded barrel for a suppressor for $550 in a gunshop once. I should have bought it.

Actually Smith & Wesson made very accurate target pistol (autoloader) in .38 special. As I recall it could only shoot full wad-cutter loads.

Also there was a 1911 based (the grip was larger, fore to aft) .357 called a Coonan.

Yeah I wasn't planning on calling them on it, just wanted to validate my thoughts.

Rationalizing here, but could they have mis spoken or you misheard?

1.  SIG 10mm ....SIG 210 (P210)?

2.  .44 Glock ....  .40 cal glock? (22/23?)

3.  Berretta .38 ... Technically .380 aka 9mm Kurz, is .38 as well as 9mm, etc etc etc... Beretta does / did make a .380.

Just wondering...some people own firearms and are not afficianados (COLLECTIVE GASP!) They could even refer to a magazine as a clip (COLLECTIVE GASP!)   so it would not be a stretch to believe one to mis-speak themselves.   Don't bust their chops hell be glad they are not of the anti-firearm mindset.

Yes,I'm glad to at least have pro-gun co-workers, even if they don't know what the hell they have. One guy claimed the Sig 10mm and I said it must be new cuz I never heard of it, I asked him to check the model number and let me know as I would love to have a Sig in 10mm. Another guy claimed the 44 Glock and 38 Beretta along with a bunch of "legit" guns. I also asked him to check his guns and let me know the model numbers of those 2 guns. I suspect they will come back with corrections, or if they were really lying, they will never come back with model numbers and just say they didn't remember to check or some such BS.

They are probablly guns they heard in movies are on TV, and thought they sounded cool. They are always talking about guns that don't exist.

My ex-father inlaw kept saying he shot a 9mm Desert Eagle.

A roommate of one of my friends claims that he shot a deer 850 yards with a .338 RUM, (That is a helluva long way) I asked him how much drop he accounted for he said 30 inches with a 150 yard zero.  Claims he can shooter a 260 grain bthp at 3,250 fps out of a 26 inch bbl.

We go to the range and that same load he has only shoots 1.33" groups at 100 yards

One of the guys ran home for lunch and checked his guns, turns out his 44 caliber Glock is actually a .45 and his 38 caliber Beretta is really a .380, wow, how can these guys even buy the correct ammo when they can't even remember the caliber of the guns? And, if you don't even know the calibers of the guns you own, that would lead me to believe that they rarely (if ever) practice with them, oh well, ignorant and pro-gun is better than ignorant and anti-gun.

Reminds me of a good friend that has a pretty large gun collection (inherited from his deceased father) but does not know squat about any of them. At the range, he is fumbling to take the safety off a Sig (no safety), tries to fire a 1911 without taking it off safe, and once again trying to take the safety off a Glock (no safety). I tell him to pick one handgun and become intimately comfortable with it's operation but he never listens. Chances are, if he ever needs to use a gun, he won't be able to operate it, specially in the middle of the night with an adrenaline dump. Doesn't matter anyway as his wife makes him keep the guns and ammo separate and locked up so I doubt he would be able to find the key to the gun safe, open it, pick a gun, then find the key to the ammo safe and find the right ammo before a thug shoves a gun in his face. Oh well, what can you do?

I talked to a guy this weekend who swore his cousin had a full auto 7mm machine gun. I said nothing until he started talking about how he fired a full auto Glock with the model number 217. I told him there was no such thing and he must mean the Glock 18. He said no, he was 100% it was a Glock 217.
