TRUMP: You could pay off a percentage of it. FORTUNE: What percentage? TRUMP: It depends on how aggressive you want to be. I'd rather not be so aggressive. Don't forget: We have to rebuild the infrastructure of our country. We have to rebuild our military, which is being decimated by bad decisions. We have to do a lot of things. We have to reduce our debt, and the best thing we have going now is that interest rates are so low that lots of good things can be done that aren't being done, amazingly. View Quote Trump! Trump! Good he needs to start making sense over the BS retoric. Looking forward to hopefully smart moves by his campaign now that things are getting more real.

Good, because it can't be done anyway. Also, who gives a shit? Just because they need the money doesn't mean the government will actually be able to raise taxes.

What a sideshow hack. The more he talks, the more I think he's a full of shit, jerk off. Do I really have to vote for this guy in November?
|
|
Well as fast as the national debt is rising, I would have to have to agree with him.

The horror! A politician said something that turned out to be a lie!

At least someone is talking about paying it off instead of spending more.

Might as well brag up ending the income tax, banning abortion, outlawing gay marriage, ending welfare or nuking the ME.
Most of us that aren't rabid fans of one or the other know that most of what all the candidates are saying at this point is BS. Just because one of them is more grandiose with his bullshit doesn't make what the others are saying any more truthful. |

TBH I wil be happy if president Trump only manages to plug the holes in this sinking ship. Bailing out the water is going to take decades, even with inflation proceeding as it is. We should keep it under 20 tril though if possible. Collapsing China, staying mostly out of skirmishes in europe over islam/euro relations and russian shenanigans, all while building walls and investing heavily in domestic production and most of all 3D printing instead of buying cheap plastic shit made in chinese factories might make for an interesting next 20 years, with a prospect of a better GDP, more jobs, and a renewal of American industry.

Well lets see...
Trump so far has *promised*... Trump has outright *promised* to increase the size and massive expense of the military... Trump has outright *promised* to increase the size and cost of Federal Law Enforcement... Trump has *promised* "make the government pay for it" Federally-funded healthcare... Trump has *promised* that he considers healthcare, education, and welfare to be functions of the Federal government... I hope neither big-spending liberal gets elected. I hope that Trump, Sanders, or Hillary do not get elected. The tragic reality is that there is a good chance that one of those three big-spending liberals gets elected... If Trump keeps *half* of his promises, taxes are going to increase. If Trump keeps *half* of his promises, taxes are going to increase, and if he hopes to increase Federal spending to keep half of his promsises, then taxes are going to increase exponentially if he plans to increase Federal powers and spending while also paying off the debt... If Trump gets elected, we are going to lose rights, Federal powers will increase, and taxes are going up. I agree with "paying off the debt." That in and of itself is conservative and noble. I do not agree with increasing Federal powers and exponentially increasing spending across the board. Trump is a lot of things, but he is no conservative. He is selling the exact... The ***exact*** same thing that Hillary is selling --increased power and cost of the Federal government-- just she is getting liberals to buy-in to the program, and Trump is getting "conservatives" (quotes used on purpose) to buy into the program. Hillary and Trump are selling the ***exact** same thing: increasing the cost and power of the Federal government at the cost of individual, local, and state rights... And *both* are going to cost taxpayers just as much if half of their plans are implemented... |

Debt will never be paid. It never has and never will be. Debt will be re-monetized ala Argentina, Germany etc. A dollar will then buy about 45-50% what it does now. Gold/Silver are a good hedge against it. Land, water rights etc. will be king as usual. Holding cash now for things you know you'll need in the future is a bad idea. Everything will cost more, as usual. That's how fiat currency works.

can he force baseline budgeting by EO? View Quote Executive Orders would not be used by a constitutional conservative, other than to get-rid of them altogether. One EO, then it would be over. I was hesitant to outright call Trump a socialist. Once he said that he would utilize EOs, just like Obama... I realized that Trump is this years version of "Obama." Someone who will use the Federal government to fulfill all the wishes and desires of those who vote for him... EO is a swear-word to conservatives... Trump is no conservative. Folks who support his liberal (constantly shifting and changing) platform are absolutely not conservatives... |

I will vote Cruz or Trump.
Trump has changed his words, but more truthfully. Big fucking deal. I'm really liking Trump, but I voted Cruz in the primary. I'll vote for either. |

Oh President Hillary is cackling about this View Quote The funny thing is that there are supporters of Trumps liberal agenda who have said and still say... "Cant wait until Trump goes on the attack against Hillary. Orange lightning will devastate her." No. Trumps attack ads write themselves. "Yesterday, Trump said he is going to pay off the debt. Today Trump says he cannot do it..." The attack ads write themselves. Even if there is dirt on Hillary. The one person on the planet with more dirt --if it is possible-- is the guy Bill Clinton convinced to run against his wife... Trump. Trump cannot attack Hillary on Bills indiscretions. Trump --the only person on the planet who could-- has more than Bill. |
