The wife is driving down with the MIL today, so I figured I'd make a pot of beef stew and some skillet corn bread. Was going to make the stew in the dutch oven, but it was calling for rain. The MIL is in her 80's and hasn't been out of the house much. She doesn't even know I have this place.

I was going to put some ramps in both the stew and the corn bread. But I doubt if the women would like it.

I had to Google "ramps". They don't sound good in cornbread though. Are they that bad?

FREAKING AWESOME!!!
Food at the cabin just tastes better! I use a lot more cast iron at the family cabin as well! stove top dutch oven, charcoal dutch oven, and skillet. And grill just as much! Last weekend for my birthday... tri-tip! 
It snowed that night...
