Why not over the virtually unprotected Canadian border? There are direct flights from Pakistan and UAE airports to Toronto; most air traffic from the Eastern Hemisphere to Mexico makes a stop in the US.

In 2001-2002 one of Texas' representatives was making the talk radio rounds talking about groups of non-Mexicans making their way across the Texas border in noticeable numbers. He talked about the groups of 8-10 young middle eastern men speaking broken English who were paying double to the coyotes what a normal border crosser were paying. Nobody noticed or cared about these people. I was shocked and upset that the president wasn't closing the border back then.

Certainly plausible IMO. They were patient leading-up the 9/11. I won't be taken by complete surprise if they try Beslan style coordinated attacks on a national scale. People before 9/11 would have NO doubt claimed you were crazy and paranoid if you'd have said they were going to fly airliners into the WTC and Pentagon. |
