Decided on a ruger precision in 6.5
But checked my local shop and there is a loooong wait list

Is this common?
Anywhere else to check? I'm near Raleigh, NC

My shop calls it a "Unicorn List."

Good luck, unless you know a distributor who actually has a few.

I see them at least once a month on my local gun site (similar to Armslist). Check Armslist. Buy a .308 and swap out the barrel? That might be an option but I'm not sure if there is more to it or if you can find 6.5 barrels for sale.

They range in price from $1100 (.308) to $1300.

Scored mine last Friday. LGS had 9 of each caliber in stock for $999 with free box of ammo.

6.5s sold out in 15 minutes

I can't wait to shoot mine

There is a .308 floating around for sale on Carolina Shooters forum.

Guess it depends on how bad you want that 6.5 Creedmor.

I was in a big LGS yesterday, a guy was at the counter asking about that rifle. Response was: long waiting list, delivery would be months away.

Did you inquire at Ed's? Usually he gets just about everything eventually.

and for my final question:
are the rails on every ruger precision supposed to be crooked? the .243 one
in a local gun store had a wasn't straight and it seems there are other guns with the same issue.
