At least they give them humongous clown shoes to stomp around in. Using regular combat boots or military uniform shoes would look ridiculous.

IIRC DK prof did that for the queen of Denmark. He got a magazine that was flush with the C7 mag well that held six or seven rounds. He also reported that they had either on them or near them another 30 rounds. The guards off watch are the QRF and they had multiple magazines worth ready to go. Those 36 rounds would bring reenforcements quite quickly.

quite frankly, I have nothing but respect for all the ceremonial guards.
Totally thankless, exceedingly boring, sometimes people just fuck with 'em and there's not much they can do about it. I don't have the patience for it personally and I really respect those that do. I imagine the beefeater gear is hot as shit, but they have to suck it up. The Old Guard guys are out there no matter the weather. I assume pretty much all palace guards of other nationalities are the same. |

IIRC those guys are active duty soldiers from Guards units. ie: they are real deal soldiers and not just for ceremony.
I believe there is a rotation between the different Guards units. |

Soldiering and the traditions thereof are not something comprehensible to everyone, especially the clowns harassing the sentries in the videos. There's a cure for it. It's called a buttstroke.
