Pretty cool, I imagine it uses some type of shotgun ammo?
A .50 BMG round might be too much [:D] I'm not sure I like the "fire-on-closing" version - "Here, Jim, lemme show you how to load this bad boy." BLAM! "S**T!" Just my opinion. |

I used to have an old Chevy that we swapped engines in, but the linkages didn't match exactly. We either had to get a drill bit that was 3 feet long to punch through the firewall into the cab, (or use a .223). We opted for the immediate remedy! (does that count as "industrial")

I have heard of power plants using those to blast slag off of boilers.
I think they were 8 gauge. |

A long time ago I bought a case of shells for one of those kiln guns. Unfortunately we didn't fire them in a gun per se, but in a tube stuck in the ground. We used them as an energy source for seismic work while mapping an underground rock formation.

I have a couple of the 8ga shells. They use them to shoot clinkers kind of a glass slag build up that collects in burners. Like in coal fired power plants. Then when they break loose and fall into grinders in the bottom of the burners they become bottom ash which is typically sold to gravel roads with.
