So in the next 6 month I am looking to get a new car. Right now I am looking at 06 vipers with prices from 45-55 thousand. Any suggestions for other fun cars in that price range (corvettes are NOT an option).
More info: I am 27 so getting in and out of the car not a huge concern I drive a f350 everyday so driving comfort not exactly a huge deal either I know I can buy x car and put x amount of money into it and go faster not what I am looking for I am 5'11 so I should fit in most things I need something with power that can also be upgraded later |

Have you ridden in one? Serious question. They are not very comfortable at all - even for a sports car.

Your constantly trying not to loose the rear end. This gets tiresome and I like to answer my cell phone and not have to have my hand on the shifter 24/7. |

How do you feel about the skin on your lower legs? Or were the pipes covered up then?

you can find 05-06 Aston Martin DB9's in the price range if you look

$45K+ on a ten year old vehicle built by UAW slugs?
No fucking way. Take an AMA course, go buy a naked literbike or similar. You'll have way more fun and save about 25-30 grand. |

They are on my list of vehicles to buy. I don't need to hear this, I've been considering c6 z06's, 3rd gen vipers or maybe an Atom |

Buy an IROC-Z camaro, This, and some suspension. Make sure the camaro has a good bit of body damage and don't fix that.

I would pay alittle more to get into a Gen 4 viper. The power is so much nicer. I have owned Gen 3 and 4 vipers. Vipers are fun, but i'm not a huge fan. I still prefer my vette to anything else so far, with the possible exception of the gallardo.
|
|
Vipers, you either love them or hate them. Ive owned just about every make of American sports car including, ZR1's, ZO6's, CTSV's, Mustangs, and Vipers.
Vipers were not meant to be pleasure cars, they are performance cars hence the reason they didn't have cruise control or stability/traction control until the Gen 5 arrived. They are drivers cars plain and simple. I plan to buy a Gen 5 soon. |
|
|
Corvettes are a dime a dozen here, walk out into a parking lot and I bet I can spot a vetted in every direction. I did forget about he cts-v that may be an option. I am looking for a driver's car, the people who say they are hard to drive are not looking for drivers cars they are looking for fast computers.

Get an old rt10 and fix it up yourself, keep in mind most of them have been wrecked. Fairly reliable car.

I have a gen 2 V. It's a fun car...for what it is. It's not the same kind of car as a viper or vette. I've had it around a racetrack several times and it's still a 4300lb sedan. Granted, it kicks ass for a 4300lb sedan, but that's what it is. |

Do it. Do it. They make supercharger and turbo kits if you're needing more power.

I was going to buy a viper a couple years ago but settled on having a custom Backdraft Racing Cobra built. Now I have a CTS-V and going back to the idea of a Viper/Cobra are just ridiculous idea's that will NEVER happen. Instead, for the serious need for speed, I'm building a race car.
Moral of the story? Buy a CTS-V. If you want a second car for spirited driving, then buy a Viper/Cobra/whatever else. |
|
eh
$50K for a 10 year old Dodge that most likely multiple people beat the piss out of pass |
|
Hey man, if what you want is a Viper then buy a Viper. Don't let people here sway your opinion on that... you aren't exactly on a website for performance car enthusiasts.
However, do not be surprised when you get walked on by newer lightly modded Camaros, Mustangs, Vetts and Imports. |
|
Ferrari 308 if you want something old school. Values are up quite a bit over the last couple of years but there should be a good GTSi in your price range.

I had the ultimate "drivers car" if you are looking for no computers. Hands down, not only is the CTS-V more fun to drive, but it's more practical and does everything just as good. Again, ultimate drivers car, this thing was awesome. But there were too many factors on whether or not it could be driven and just too much going on. The good thing is that even the REPLICAS like this go UP in value so long as it's a upper end brand (kirkham/superformance/backdraft/era) as the newer builds keep increasing in price. http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp333/svh19044/IMG_2877_zpsvilictyi.png http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp333/svh19044/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-09/1628FB85-03C8-466C-80E4-EC4D28033D0F_zpszji0srdq.jpg http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp333/svh19044/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-09/099994D8-1BEB-4DD3-8C4D-7B84F6754511_zpspgrng0zt.jpg http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp333/svh19044/IMAG1361_zps039e1a91.jpg http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp333/svh19044/IMAG1311_zpsfa8563ac.jpg View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
