Just noticed it on mine when I renewed.
Apparently there's some new SecureID regulation or something where you have to provide all kinds of documents to get a driver's license. You can tell if you have a SecureID license if it has a star in the top right corner. Old: 
Here's what my new one looks like (not me) 
Notice the star. But it's not just Georgia folks 
If you have the star, consider yourself on priority boarding for the FEMA trains. |

I had to carry my birth certificate, passport, three pieces of mail, and my old license down there for my last renewal.
I got to watch a shitload of Mexicans walk in and out with theirs no problem.  |

Where have you been? Only a couple of states don't meet the SecureID requirement. Supposedly causes a big stink when they show up at the airport to board a plane.

DMV told me it meant I was a confirmed U.S. citizen, since last time I had to renew I needed my birth certificate and SS card.
