I do have a Pietta SAA clone in .45 that I absolutely love. Pure fun to shoot the thing.
Though I need to file the front post down to about a nub one of these days. |

Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt, paired with a Rossi '92 clone. All the handling of the "good ol' guns," but with the strength to handle Ruger loads. Powder puff up to moderate stump-puller rounds, they're pure fun.

My current production guns would be my JM Marlin 1894 CSS in .357 Magnum and my Ruger New Model Vaquero in .357 Magnum.
 My originals are my Smith & Wesson .38 Double Action 2nd Model and my 1896 Krag Carbine. |

They're well used with lots of deer, hare, grouse, beavers and yotes with lots of miles on/off trails and in my canoe. They've kept me and my hound fed for months at a time in the woods. I had a Ruger Vaquero in 45LC. I loved it but never shot it very well so I traded it for a Remington Rand 1911A1. (this was in 1993)
I want to get another one and try it again. |
